VABasser Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Well I'm pretty stoked ;D. There's really no point to this post but you guys know how it is when you get a new boat, you gotta tell everyone. Once I came to the conclusion that the Potomac is the most productive body of water to spend your time on in NoVA, I had to convince my dad we needed to upgrade our boat. It took about 6 months and I almost gave up, but I came out on top haha. Although not technically my boat, whenever I'm home from college it pretty much is. I think you know what I'll be doing this summer. Makes getting through finals that much harder. But here she is, a 2004 model Bass Tracker 185 with a 2005 60 HP Merc. If you ever see a tall (6' 4") college age guy out there come up and say hi. On a side note, I'm sure there will be some trips with an empty seat and I'd love to meet some of you all and learn some things. Let me know if you'd like to go out and we'll try to make it happen Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted April 29, 2009 Super User Posted April 29, 2009 Nice boat and looks in good condition. If you want to get rid of the speedometer pitot and the transducer, take it to Briery Creek Lake, LOL Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 30, 2009 Super User Posted April 30, 2009 It is too clean. You need to take her out and get her dirty, like mine. Where do you launch? Quote
smlbass Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Congrats on the boat. I am sure you and your dad will make many memories out on the water. Quote
VABasser Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 It is too clean. You need to take her out and get her dirty, like mine. Where do you launch? I'll launch the majority of times from Quantico. My dad retired from the Marine Corps this past fall so its no hassle getting on base. We can launch for free from there. If theres one thing I hate its paying rip off launch fees at places like Hope Springs. That being said I'll launch from Leesylvania and Pohick some as well. Maybe Willow Landing from Aquia Quote
slomoe Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Sweet ride, enjoy it. Let me know if you ever need a partner. Quote
-badhabit- Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Congrats! Nice looking boat and it should raise things up a notch for you. (1000% better than my new one ) Quote
c17Lat Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 sick boat, man. You're really blessed to have a boat like that, any bass boat for that matter, at your age. since you're in college like myself, will you be fishing the flw college tx on the potomac in june? Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Hey Va, nice ride buddy. Have to wait til' I trade in my car until I can get one. Lookin' at another year and a half to two year but at least until then I can get out with my dad in his ride or our canoe. We have to hit Quantico still sometime together man, whether by canoe or bass boat. I don't really have any free weekends until June but I know my dad and I were talking about launching the canoe out there one weekend next month and hitting our favorite spot. Maybe you can tag along in yours since you'll be up for the summer? Anyway enjoy that boat dude, next thing I know your gonna be signed up for the bassmaster opens and stuff next spring haha. I'll talk to you later man. Don't be a stranger. Quote

Nah I haven't got into tourneys...yet. I thought I'd never want to do the tournament fishing thing but now I give it some thought so maybe my mind is changing. I saw in our collegiate paper (I go to VT) that our bass fishing team won some national tournament or something. I met a guy on the team last year who was trying to get me to come out. It'd be sweet but I dont know if I've got the time down here to do it. You know how that is I'm sure. Hey jcrzy I'll be sending you a PM in a bit Quote
NOVA Angler Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Nice boat man! If you're interested in joining a club that fishes competitively, I highly recommend New Horizon Bass Anglers. It's a good sized club that isn't overly competitive and we place a strong emphasis on sharing information to make everyone better. Some people see it as a beginners club, but there are many experienced and profficient anglers in the club. Check us out at.... http://www.nhbayouthfoundation.org/ Membership fees and tournament fees are very low so it won't brake the bank. It's more about learning and having fun in this club. Many people move on to fish more competitive clubs or circuits, but it's a great place to start. I'll be sure to hollar at you if I see you on the water some time. I'm also 6'4" so I'm hard to miss as well. Quote
NovaBasser Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Great boat! I'm a bit jealous! I'm on summer break now and have a ton of time on my hands until the end of June so if your ever in need of a fishin' buddy hit me up. Quote
