Unknownwaters Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I have been fishing lake lanier with live bait with my dad since i was two and usually we catch some nice spotted bass, but these past few years ive been trying to fish artificial baits more but havent caught much. i catch plenty of fish on other lakes but never seem to do to well on Lanier. I was just wondering if anybody had any advice. Quote
mase088 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Honestly, I always seem to do well with a shad rap size 7 in any natural pattern. Jig and shakey head is always a good option as well, preferably in green. Fish points, backs of creeks, anywhere that looks good. Once you find the fish this time of year, they shouldn't be too difficult to coax into biting. Quote
senko_77 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 It's all about bed fishing at Lanier right now. My buddy has been catching numerous 7lb larries off bed the last week. Come up to Hammonds Tackle today from 11-4. We are having customer appreciation day today and a bunch of real good Lanier anglers are gonna be there to give advice on the lake. Hammonds is on Browns Bridge Rd. off of GA-400. Quote
bigfish88 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 ive been fishin lanier all my life, and the fish are always in some place different than the day before. ill find em with a crank or spinnerbait the slow it up with a swim bait or c-rig with a zoom plastic. ive had pretty good luck with that in 08' but lately ive been fishing for stripers at lanier.
