buzzkid123 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Has anyone fished beaverdam lake in the spring, if so how did you fish and what did you catch? Quote
Super User Dan: Posted April 25, 2009 Super User Posted April 25, 2009 my friend got bit by a copperhead on both legs while fishing there last year so if you do, be careful. I've never fished it though. Quote
NOVA Angler Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I fished it with a buddy the first weekend in April. We did okay but not great. I caught 4 with the largest going about 3lbs. My buddy doesn't fish much so he took a chance and didn't buy a fishing license. Of course a couple game wardens stop us that day and give him a ticket. They were really cool guys though. Otherwise we had a good time and I'm sure since it has warmed up, the fishing is probably better. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted April 27, 2009 Super User Posted April 27, 2009 Nova angler, what is the punishment/fine for fishing without a license? Quote
mlpauley Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 i use to like going there but there is so much grass there it is hard to fish for me. If your close to suffolk i would reccomend trying the lonestar lakes. We just started fishing there and it is a great place Quote

NOVA Angler Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Quote Nova angler, what is the punishment/fine for fishing without a license? I'm not sure. I think it varies depending on the county's court costs. He did says since we were cooperative, if my buddy bought a license and came to court he would recommend dropping the ticket. He would still be stuck with court costs though. He lives and hour and a half away so I think he's just going to pay it. Once I find out, I'll reply to this thread and let you know. Quote
tubetop Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I did today for first time. Caught a fat 4+lb LM on spinnerbait Quote
A.Do? Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Beaverdam can be very productive on some days but the lake is known to change patterns on a daily basis. Hold some pretty big fish (and ticks) if you can find them. Last year, I had a lot of luck working the submerged rocks with a tube or fat ika but this was during the summer. I haven't been out there in awhile. Quote
