smallfry Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I know, I know, probably sacriligeous to mess with one of his paint jobs. I just think the walleye bait is really missing the contrast of the bright white tips on the fins. These tips are very, very noticeable when an 'eye swims past in the water. For years I've tied flies to mimic small 'eyes, and I believe these are a prime visual cues for predators. I might just try dipping the tips of the fins in some liquid bleach and see if it does the trick. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted March 24, 2008 Super User Posted March 24, 2008 i sure as hell wouldnt use bleach! bleach is strong stuff and there is a good chance it will just dissolve the fins right away. if you gotta dye the fins then i'd look into a white bait dye, does Spike-It! have a white dye? Mattlures Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Bleach would do nothing. what you need to do is go to spike its website and get the worm and chunk paint in white. Do not get any type of dye. It wont work. The white paint will work. Quote
