Clarks Hill tournament, advice?

If any kind gentlemen have any tips on Clarks Hill and whats been going on that would be awesome. I am Fishing the College Bass East Super regional on the 7-8 and have friday to prefish. We are launching out of Wildwood Park.

I read some reports saying the fish have moved up to about 4-8 ft of water and are hitting jigs on wood structure, shad raps back up in the rivers, and crank baits on rocky points and road beds.

So if anyone has any good info about some fish you've been sticking, or maybe some good spots within a good distance from the ramp, let me know!

I'll give you some general information.

First of all. Safety. The lake is still very low and there a lot of humps and trees out in the middle of the lake that can take your boat away from you. Be careful and try to always run with the transducer reading.

We have had a lot of rain lately and the lake is on the way up. (6+ inches a day) The Corps of Engineers has stopped letting water out of the dam and the lake will continue to rise for the next several days. Most of the lake is now either very muddy or stained. This morning the water temps were in the Low 50's.

Fish your strengths. Find the fish and you will be able to catch them on just about anything. The hard part for the past few weeks has been finding the fish. But it looks like we will have stable weather through the week. The fishing should be awesome come Sat and Sun.

If you see a tan 18ft Aluminum Triton with a Merc 90 on the back you better stop and say hi.

We'll be in a Triton as well with a Merc 125 I believe. Its white and says "Team War Eagle Fishing" on the side. So if you see a couple of heathens in Auburn Jerseys like the one in my avy, I'll be on the back.

My boater just took 1st place in the FLW college fishing Lake Okeechobee event last weekend, winning 10,000 for our school. So hopefully he can get 2 wins in a row, and I can get my first ever tournament win with him.

Either way it should be a great weekend on the lake, with the warm weather.

Mase...seriously be careful up there at the Hill...Ive lived on the lake for awhile and use to know some cuts through un marked territory but now the water is so low its just to much of a gamble to run them. Stay near the center channel markers(Past the bridge up the little river and aboove the 378 bridge near Elija Clark park) and youll be fine.

The weather should be awesome for this weekend and we are hoping to see some great sacks weighed in!!

You fish for Southern? You gonna be there? A guy from my high school fishes for southern, but I only know him as Sloth. Wasn't really friends with him, just heard from a buddy of mine that goes to southern that he fishes there.

I wouldn't run up past Elijah State Park and I fish there a lot.  Be careful if you go into Benningsfield Creek.  Theres standing trees in the middle.  Also if you go into Wells Creek there are some humps to the left right as your going in.  All rock humps.  Dordon Creek is the same way, but you can see most of them except the one in the middle on into the creek.  Come to think of it theres humps all over the place.  I hate going there now myself.  If it were me I would prbably hit the points and pockets in Keg Creek and Chicoe Creek.  Theres a creek arm going to the right in the Hamilton Branch area.  Do pretty good in the this time of year.  If you want specifics then you can send me a message.  Good Luck to yall and be careful.

First of all good luck, you have a good start with the crankbaits shad raps and bevyshads are my favorite  and jigs, also try a wieghtless superfluke preferably in white ice behind the weed beds if the water clears up if not green pumpkin works well to. Good jig colors are green pumpkin and peanut butter and jelly buckeye lures right here in augusta makes the best in my opinion try there finesse flat top jig or mop jig with a zoom super speed crawl trailer. I fish the lake at least twice a week if not more. Last but not least dont be afraid to try a spot remover rigged with a speed crawl, or finesse worm.

I fished all day today with one bite. The water temp has dropped to 48 and is muddy just about everywhere. The normal clear water lures you hear about just aren't working right now. The lake has risen 5 feet in the last week and is still on its way up. There is alot of large stuff floating all over the lake so be careful. With a few warm day due this weekend your tournament should be great.

We get a practice day on Friday and my boater has a friend that fishes on the lake a lot that is going to give us some advice as well. I think with that combined with what you guys are telling me, we should do pretty good. I'm just glad I'm not going to have to bare the cold all weekend!
