Super User Sam Posted November 20, 2008 Super User Posted November 20, 2008 The Richmond Fishing Expo will be January 16, 17 and 18 at Richmond International Raceway. The 2009 event is early in the month of Janaury so everyone mark your calendars. Maybe a bunch of us can meet at the Expo on Saturday morning? Just food for thought. Quote
SimonSays Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Sounds like fun, I'll try to clear my calendar, I missed it last year. What goes on at the expo? Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 21, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 21, 2008 Lots of boat dealers and other vendors selling their wares like plastics, hard baits, rods, reels, etc. Last year they had some great presentations. I attended Ike's seminar and although I had heard the information previously, it was nice hearing it again and seeing Ike. Hopefully we will have more vendors now that the show is under new management. Come on over so we all can get together on day. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 21, 2008 Super User Posted November 21, 2008 Simon, I went last year and it was FREAKING AWESOME! They have tons and tons of small businesses with some cool products. If you go, check out Grandt Rods and Dave's Tournament Tackle (they were there last year, I assume they will be there this year as well). I'm not sure if I am going to be able to go yet but I sure hope I can. Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 21, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 21, 2008 Dominion Dan, This is a command performance. We expect you to be there. Make plans now. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 22, 2008 Super User Posted November 22, 2008 haha, I will try my best. Hopefully I'll be able to convince my roommate to take me home to his house in Ashland and we can make a weekend out of it. That's what we did last year. If it works out, I'll be sure to be part of a BR get together. Quote
skeletor121 Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I have been a bit absent from this forum (actually all forums) lately, but I will probably head down to this with the whole family. Is there a website out there that has more details? I googled it and didn't see a home page for the expo. Any info would be great. Thanks for posting this. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted November 22, 2008 Super User Posted November 22, 2008 Here is a link for the information about the show: http://www.ncboatshows.com/show.php/eventId/3 Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 23, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 23, 2008 www.ncboatshows.com/show.php/eventId/3 Kevin VanDam is one of the speakers. Check out the site for others. If you can't get this address t work, Google Richmond Fishing Expo and then look for the Expo on the right hand side of the page as it scrolls down. Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 24, 2008 Super User Posted November 24, 2008 I'll be there. We ought to get together. Quote
Paul Naj Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I put it on the calendar for the 17th. I'm happy to load up the Expedition starting in Loudoun county and pick a few up on the way down. It's a good opportunity meet the fellow VA bass nuts. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 24, 2008 Super User Posted November 24, 2008 you Richmond guys know any good places to eat down there? Quote
flippin4it. Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 The Bar-B-Que joint next to Greentop is good......... Quote
rondef Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Hey Sam, I may try to make it down there for that. I have not been doing much lately due to having surgery last week but I will touch base with Jason and see what he thinks about going to this. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 24, 2008 Super User Posted November 24, 2008 The Bar-B-Que joint next to Greentop is good......... haha! I went there after I stopped at Green Top today. It was some pretty good BBQ Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 24, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 24, 2008 There are a lot of places to eat in Richmond. Not by the Raceway, but other places. Have some nice resturants in Ashland, too. So everyone can hit the Expo, Green Top and the new BPS plus Gander Mountain. The Bait Monkey is doing the happy dance. ;D As the dates get closer we all will make plans to meet. Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 27, 2008 Super User Posted November 27, 2008 Sam, maybe we can get Glenn to make this thread a sticky in this forum. BTW, here's the menu for the restaurant at the Richmond Bass Pro Shop. I went there today for the first time. It's a lot bigger and nicer than the one in Hampton. Quote
SimonSays Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 That black and Blue Tuna sounds tasty! Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 27, 2008 Super User Posted November 27, 2008 Alright, it's a sticky. Thanks 5Bass and Glenn. Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 27, 2008 Super User Posted November 27, 2008 Phat Boys BBQ next to Green Top was smelling righteous yesterday. Something about BBQ on a cool fall day... Quote
slomoe Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I was trying to find this thread....took me a while ;D I would like to try and make it down. A day of shopping for fishing gear and some good BBQ, what more could one ask for? Quote
VekolBass Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Count me in. Excellent speaker list this year. Quote
drmnbig Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 As long as the work schedule is okay you can count me in on being there. My dad and I travel to these things whenever we can. Quote
JShrock07 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I will be heading down there for the expo. It will be my first fishing expo. So I hope it will teach me more then I already know. I look forward to seeing many of the Va members that I have not yet met and looking forward seeing the members I have already had the privilege of meeting and fishing with. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted December 28, 2008 Super User Posted December 28, 2008 So who all is going? I am pretty much positive I will be there. When are we all planning on meeting? I'd like to make plans to meet with you all because between the vendors, the speakers, BPS, Greentop, and lunch there is a LOT of stuff to do. Let me know some plans and we'll see for what and when we can meet up or maybe we can even all just stick together for most the day. Quote
