Since I will be staying in The villages at lady lake, which one of these lakes would be the best bet for my wife and I to take some good lmb in mid-jan?

We have never fished either one. We will be coming down from Tennessee. Any help would be appreciated.

Johns Lake, without a doubt, is much better.

The Villages are quite a drive down to both lakes. Lake Yale is on the far North end of the Harris chain. It is now blocked off from the rest of the chain. It is a much better option than Dora and arguably as good as Johns. There are several small chains in the N Lake county area. The Holly chain is another in that area. Wildcat lake is up in the forrest, and it is catch and release only. Supposedly a nice place to catch some biggun's. Ive been there once, not much luck. But Yale is always pretty good.
