Irish_Bassman Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 i recently moved to green cove springs just south of jacksonville, FL. wondering if anyone was up for showing me a decent spot to find some good bass action. i have caught a few on the naval air station, with a couple being around 6lbs. but im looking for a place with numbers more so than size. just a decent day on the water. so if there are any other fellow bass chasers out here that would be so kind as to chime in, i would appreciate it oh so much 8-) Quote

Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 18, 2008 Super User Posted November 18, 2008 Green Cove Springs is a good place. Simply drive to the river and start wading. Google Bass Haven Rd. My grandad once owned that whole street and sold each lot that now have houses on them. His house was the last house on the street. I waded and fished that area for 25 yrs. Probably one of the best bass places in Florida, or was back then. Perhaps knock on the door at the end of the road and ask permission to access the water from their front yard to wade. I haven't been there in YEARS but what an Awesome spot. Quote
Super User fishinfiend Posted November 19, 2008 Super User Posted November 19, 2008 I can't help with fishing holes, but you have got to go to Larry's Giant Subs. They are the best sandwiches on earth. I wish we had a Larry's :'( Quote
Irish_Bassman Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 i drive by there all the time and i keep meaning to stop! i hear they are pretty decent. Quote
YaHoo Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 where are you catching six pound bass on base? the river is full of hydrilla and knowing how to fish it can result in a 30+ day. other than that i would suggest welatka area. if you have electronics to to lake kingsley on camp blanding. find the DD's at 40 feet and hold on. bassbanger Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Welcome to the green cove area. I live just across the river from you in Orangdale, i have been MIA from the board here for a while and i havnt had my boat out in a couple months, but so far my best luck has been in swimming pen creek off of doctors inlet. I have yet to catch a Bass in the Main river but im still learning! Quote
