mudkart Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Posts about NOVA fishing have slowed recently, maybe everyone is having as tough a time as we are. Anyway, in the interests of livening things up, here is a report summarizing our pond hopping experiences the past three weeks. From 10-15 to 10-16 we caught 10 fish, all on swim senkos and all dinks except one. Quote
mudkart Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 ..another dink.., well, maybe not to our son, he seems pretty happy with his catch.. Quote
A.Do? Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I haven't had a chance to really fish for bass . Might try to sneak in a few hours on Tuesday. Interested since we have the day off? Quote
mudkart Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 On 10/30, we caught 3, all on c-rigs, the largest was 3-9 and is below, the smallest was 2 even. In between the dinkfest (10/15) and 10/30, we went out twice and caught nothing. I can tell you the swim senko bite has come and gone. Interesting disparity between the size of our catch earlier, and more recently. Quote

A.Do? Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Shore fish or by boat/kayak? This is the only thing I've caught in the last 2-3 weeks Quote
okrod Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Been by a few Burke ponds and caught 4 all about 1-5 to 2 lbs, 2 on crank baits and 2 skipping senkos under a doc. Caught three at fountainhead today all under 2 lbs. One was by a lay down and two at drop-offs all on senkos. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 8, 2008 Super User Posted November 8, 2008 How's the wrist, Andrew? I went out tonight at my spot down here at school. Managed two on a topwater and one on a texas rig 10" power worm. The first one on the topwater was TINY, like barely bigger than the Yo-Zuri walking bait I used. The second was probably close to 2.5lbs and the power worm was probably just under 3lbs. I was glad to get a few topwater bites, the water isn't too cold yet... BTW, if you like walk the dog baits, try this one: http://www.fish307.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=5372 They have a soft squishy coating on them and they walk VERY well. Quote
A.Do? Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Quote How's the wrist, Andrew? Not too great. I'm thinking I might have to learn to use a baitcaster right handed . I'm going to see a doctor to make sure there's nothing seriously wrong with my wrist. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 8, 2008 Super User Posted November 8, 2008 Ewww, you don't want that! Get to the Dr! Quote

SimonSays Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Heya guys, haven't fished too much lately, just hit my favorite striper spot last night but I think it's still a bit early, only hit one 19in - 3lber A week ago Andrew and I hit up the potomac without too much but we did hit a few cat fish. Quote
SimonSays Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Team Hobie =D Andrew is the only one with enough balls to stand up on the yak on the potomac ! Quote
Hung up Paul Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 This pic isn't exactly recent, but it's the last fish I caught. Almost 1 month ago. I've only been out about 2 times at night since then though so I can't complain. Quote
bumper Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Are you guys catching catfish with bait or lures? My report: I went shoreline fishing the potomac last weekend with no success. There are a lot of leaves that interfere with my casting. Also, the water level has dropped dramatically. The lowest I've seen in a long time. Quote
flippin4it. Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Quote Rob, what is that rod in your avatar? Did you get a new one? Dan, I am up to 8 Kistlers now. The pic in the avitar is a prototype of kistlers new line up........ Quote
SimonSays Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Quote Are you guys catching catfish with bait or lures? We hooked into those cats with lures, Andrew was trolling a magic shad and I was slowly reeling in a 4in chart grub. Quote Quote Rob, what is that rod in your avatar? Did you get a new one? Does kistler have any accidental damage coverage with their warranty? Quote
flippin4it. Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Simon, out of the two rods that I have had warrantied. They asked no questions. Quote

A.Do? Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Lorton? Afraid not. Mudkart and I hitup Mercer on the yak and almost sank. We didn't fare too great. The wind was killer and we ended the day with only four hookups. Were there Hobie's out in Lorton? :-? Quote
