Maloverde Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Are the fish still biting in Nov. & Dec in the Potomac? Bass and Crappie? Thanks for any advice. I'll be fishing in the Willow Landing area on Sunday morning. Quote
Super User VolFan Posted November 8, 2008 Super User Posted November 8, 2008 They bite well all the way through the winter. With sustained colder weather you'll have to slow down a little, and look for warmer water around rip rap and discharges, but I fished straight through last year with good success. Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 8, 2008 Super User Posted November 8, 2008 You can fish the Potomac all year. Right now the grass has not all died and the spinnerbait bite is on. Give it a try and let us know how you did. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 8, 2008 Super User Posted November 8, 2008 wasn't the MD tidal record caught from the P'mac in the winter last year? Quote
slomoe Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 wasn't the MD tidal record caught from the P'mac in the winter last year? Yea, He had to back the boat up to break up the ice where he was fishing. Quote
Maloverde Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 Outstanding! Thanks for the input. I'll be hitting the waters for crappie and bass and will report back with the results. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Winter tis the season to break out the Silver Buddies and the Mann's 3" avocado Stingray Grubs rigged on a 1/4oz ball head jig so that the hook comes out the third ring from the tail. Rig it with the tail horizontal and fish it on spinning gear. Bass and crappie love the little flat tail grub. They are hard to find and I finally went to Mann's to order mine. These are very popular Potomac winter baits. Quote
JShrock07 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Where are you going to launch your boat??? If you are going out of Aquia Creek let me know and I can put you on some extremely hot spots right now. Quote
