ggfishing Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Caught it at Greatfalls National park yesterday, of cause it is the Potomac. It is around 20 inches long, pretty big right?! Killed!! This one was not fun to play with at all, just simply pull it over without too much fight. > I just noticed that a lot of people concerned about the fish I caught. I am totally new fisherman, After carefully comparing to other snakehead caught by other people on this forum, I can say mine is quit different. The reason why I called it a snakehead was that a guy I met there told me it was a snakehead. Hopefully it was Not. Sorry for bothering you guys. Quote
slomoe Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Congrats on the snakehead. Whos your service provider? If you plug your phone in via USB your computer should automatically install the driver for it. Then you should just be able to go into "My Computer" and find it. It will be labeled Motorola or something, then you can just go into your phone and find the file. Quote
daviscw Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 You can type in your email address in place of a phone number if you have pix messaging. Thats just what I usually do. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted October 24, 2008 Super User Posted October 24, 2008 I had to get software to download pictures from the Razr phone to my XP computer (Handset Manager by Mobile Action Technology Inc.). When I got a couple of Vista computers, the software would not work it them and there is no Vista version of it either. I still have to use the XP machine. Quote
A.Do? Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I'd suggest you try and email it to yourself or you can text it to someone and have them put it up. I can do it if you want me to. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted October 24, 2008 Super User Posted October 24, 2008 At Greatfalls!?!?! Have they been discovered above the fall line before this? You might want to let the VDGIF know. Quote
ptomacbass Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 they're everywhere now. though they seem to be doing nothing. Quote
A.Do? Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I agree with Dan, if you don't have the info PM me your name, the size, and the location and i'll fwd it to John Odenkirk. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted October 24, 2008 Super User Posted October 24, 2008 I had not heard of one being caught above the fall line, though. The water there doesn't have areas with nearly as low oxygen like they are inhabiting in the tidal potomac. Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 That looks more like a grinnel (bowfin) to me. :-/ Quote
Super User Dan: Posted October 25, 2008 Super User Posted October 25, 2008 hard to tell from that picture but i think it is a walleye. I have caught one on the MD side of Great Falls before. PHEW Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 25, 2008 Super User Posted October 25, 2008 OK guys, some pics for you to reference: bowfin: snakehead: walleye: sauger: The fish in that picture does not look like a snakehead. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 25, 2008 Super User Posted October 25, 2008 It is around 20 inches long, pretty big right?! Not really. I've had snakehead in an aquarium that were much larger. Check this one out, LOL: Quote
ptomacbass Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 that was a walleye. was the guy you talked to bottom fishing and carrying a bucket? those people aren't usually the best source of information. Quote
