I was told that I need surgery on one of my hands and that it will keep me from fishing for approximately two weeks following the surgery.

My question to the guys in Northern Virginia is this. If you had to pick two weeks to not fish, what two weeks would you choose? The surgery date is flexible and I can push it all the way out to December if I want.

Cant miss that fall feed! I had so much fun fishing the fall of last year, for the numbers and the size (hit my PB last fall)...Also striper season is around the fall too so there's 2 reasons =D

But depending on the severity of the condition or the necessity of surgery to repair it...I'd say do it asap if it might have any chance to degenerate into something worse, you'll have plenty of time to fish after the 2 week recovery as the fall feed won't be over yet anyhow.

Or if it's not so bad push it back til December when you're stuck in doors...unless you winter fish like I do ><

The pain is bearable and the surgery can wait if I choose.  I have a big lump on one of my knuckles on my left hand which is painful when I bend my finger.

The bite has been getting really good lately every where I go and I don't know that I want to miss out on it plus it is only going to get better as each day passes.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Between Christmas and New Years.

Dead times of the year for fishing due to the holidays and the need to keep the wife happy with chores, setting up for gatherings, shopping, etc.

Hope the surgery is not major.  :)

I would have to say I agree with Trevor, I would take time right after Thanksgiving. You can still hunt then haha ;)

Man, I can understand being a fishing fanatic, but rondef...this buds for you.

dude, schedule your surgery a soon as possible.  Get your body right first, then when your all healed up go fishing.  The bass will be there.

I would say the week before x-mas, that way you can go through all your stuff an figure out what you need (presents from Santa) that way you have a solid week to clean up. an a solid week getting everything ready.

worse comes to worse, i can reel in your cast an all the laborious stuff, clean the gear, fill the tanks etc etc. lol

besides health is more imortant,
