I've seen the Lucky Craft 'Style' and Megabass 'Styled' baits on Ebay and have tried some, to my disappointment...

I have tried Megabass knock offs and they suck.  Terrible paint (soft and it smells like varnish), bad job on the mold (file marks, odd random divots and dings), different chambers inside, different sound, etc etc etc.  I expect Lucky Craft Knock Offs aren't of much better quality.

You would be happier with a real LC or Megabass lure, I think.  Plus, why support what is nothing more than blatant theft?  I know many companies produce very very similar baits as their competitors, but they at least change it up a little bit... But those knockoffs on Ebay are stolen designs, and badly put together.

The Academy H2O baits?

I'll bet those are the ones he's talking about. Daniel, I have a bunch of them. I can send you a few if you want.

Some of the H2O works great some don't. The Rapala shad raps knockoffs comes through the water like you are pulling a stick. Little to no action, will not make the end of a cranking rod move or vibrate. Most of the others work great. Put my on Ebay.

I agree you should buy the real deal. I havent had knock-off LC's or Megabass but I have had replica Zip-Baits. They wasn't even close. Ended up giving them away.

If you want LC and dont want to pay $15 - $20 for them then look on eBay. I have bought dozens of them off there are most of them only cost me $8 - $10.

Thanks for the info guys! These baits are not for me, I fish the real deal. A friend of mine is looking for pointer type baits. (78 and 100)

The H20 baits are sweet but I'm not sure if they make anything like the pointers.

Jimzee, thanks for the offer! 8-)

I looked at these baits on ebay, but they seem to be a bit expensive for knock offs. http://stores.ebay.com/bass-tournament-lures_Jerkbaits_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ17406329QQftidZ1QQtZkm

"Unlike 7 out of 10 balsa baits, these run true."

Wow, this guy sure knows his stuff......I've wasted so much money on balsa crankbaits - - only 30% of them actually run right.   :;)

Janns netcraft sells baits that look like lucky craft and come in some similar paint schemes.  theres a few guys who add hooks and sell them on the internet

daiwa DB suspending minnow looks like a pointer and has some nice colors. http://www.***.com/descpageHDLDAIWAHDRDAIWA-DDBM.html#

I find that the daiwa db minnow doesn't look like a pointer at all. This bait certainly does:

yeah i guess you're right, but for 14.95, why not just get a real pointer? :;)
