YaHoo Posted March 17, 2008 Author Posted March 17, 2008 details about these locations and maybe maps? that would be appreciated i could not tell you if the suwanne river was south of george or not, but that he does not wanna go to ok, toho, kiss, walkinwater, harris, or any of those. stick marsh is looking good though Quote
TyTy Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Stick Marsh is not that bad. The only danger is if you run on plane where others arent and you wouldnt do that in any lake you didnt know really. I expected it to be a huge mine field, it wasent. I boated out there my first time in the morning before sun up...no big deal. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted March 26, 2008 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted March 26, 2008 Stickmarsh is really not that bad. You just have to use some caution. I have only fished it twice but have only hit 1 stump (at idle) on the north end of the Stick Marsh and been hung on a stump (with the TM) once on the south end of Farm 13. If you are looking for possibly the trip of a lifetime, then I would opt for the Stickmarsh. Quote
surfer Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I fished stick marsh on a windy day and felt like a pinball in a pinball machine when drifting. Maybe on a calm day I would have hit fewer trees. Quote
CFFF 1.5 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 YOu will be fine in stick marsh, just use caution, and only run in the canals and wear your pfd it can get really rough on a windy day. DD stick marsh bass, see avatar pic. Quote

DD stick marsh bass, see avatar pic. Exactly. The worst of the stick marsh is Pinball Alley along the southern shore. If you've ever fished the stumpfields of Rodman, you know the drill. Roger Quote
George Welcome Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Look on west wall: "Fishermen's shack" draw a diagonal line to the se corner, "pump head" South of that line: IDLE Use common sense out here and you will be fine. Quote
bassbanger Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 So is stick marsh in rodman res? I went out last week came out of a ramp in middle of a stump field and the barge canal is to the right? -Randy Quote
gatrboy53 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 randy,sm is a couple hundred mi. to the s. you must have put in at the campground by the dam.if you go back to rodmans im me i can put you on some fish.you need to go over to lowry ,a friend caught about 50 mon. most were 10-14'' but a couple biguns and one that broke off. bassbanger Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Yeah it was at the camp ground! Is there a better place to put in? without dealing with so much grass, and a stumpfield. I was trying to stay away from using my motor so as to not hit a stump, and the trolling motor was getting clogged up left and right! Next time im just gonna run my motor through it! Quote
gatrboy53 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 yeah its topped out from campground all the way out to stumpfield .that would be a tough deal w/ tm.yes kenwood is better to put in at and you dont have to pay.closer also Quote
