gar-tracker Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 My brother lived down the grade road from SF back in the 70s, its always been a good lake, i think theres little SF and Big SF, I used to fish it with those pre rigged Lake Jackson worms with the hooks already in the worm. Quote

skeetercaster Posted July 25, 2008 Author Posted July 25, 2008 HI guys,Sante Fe is a hard lake to fish, although we did manage to catch 4 dinks,I missed 4 hits and my partner missed 3 all on grape/shad 7 1/2" Culprits, surface temp 84,air temp high90's(hot as hell)Sunny, very little wind from the east,we started at the cut between the big and little lake in 6-8' water next to the grass, then moved to the cypress trees on the south end of the big lake where we started to get some bites, all in all it was a slow day at best...But it still beat work Quote
bassbanger Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 I took my first shot at it last week, started same place and headed in the same direction got 2... about 16 inches. Went back next morning 7 am to 12, and didnt get a bite!! tried around the pass around the same side we got the 2 the nite before, and then i headed to melrose bay i guess it is, there is a area there with cypress trees all around and we fished up in there water was pretty clear there and lots of fallen trees. No luck however! Didnt even see any action from fish outside the normal action in the pass there. Your in jacksonville? so you ever fish doc lake? or the st johns ? -Randy -Randy B Quote
skeetercaster Posted July 26, 2008 Author Posted July 26, 2008 hi Randy,I've been mainly fishing Rodman when I get the chance to go,it's been the only place I've been able to find with any water, but I mainly fish Rodman,Sante Fe,and the Harris chain(where I plan to move to by the first of the year)I have fished the St Johns before but have only been able to catch fish up in Salt Run,I've never fished in Doctors Inlet before, but now that we've had some rain maybe a trip is needed to Leesburg the lake should be coming up.....anybody out there with any info????
