fishbear Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Was just wondering where everyone is fishing, what your catching them on, etc.... Also, if anyone has any info on Bearcreek, between Athens and Winder. Quote
diddie Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 The gas prices are killing me I'm having to fish off the bank.I live in albany georgia. My 1986 Ranger has been parked for the last couple of months and that is really sucking. Quote
fishbear Posted July 7, 2008 Author Posted July 7, 2008 Dont feel bad, am having to sell my jon boat, . gonna have to be a bank fisherman too, except when one of the guys I know takes pity on me, lol Quote
flippinstick Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I bank fish a lot, but the gas prices and long drives don't mix well so I am stuck at my local park pond. There are virtually no fish within casting distance and the good structure is unreachable. :'( Quote
fishbear Posted July 7, 2008 Author Posted July 7, 2008 Where you at in Atlanta? Tribble Mill in Gwinnett Co, is a good lake to bank fish from.. that is where I go most of the time. Gonna try Bear Creek Res. this weekend I think out towards Jefferson. Quote
Randall Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I am still here. Just started back fishing this past week after we had the baby. Spent two days down in Henry County at Towaliga and caught over thirty one day and over fifty another day. Caught them on swimbaits, soft plastics and jigs. I will get around to posting more reports soon. It's just been real busy with a new baby. Quote

fishbear Posted July 18, 2008 Author Posted July 18, 2008 Heading to Jackson Lake for an all nighter on the lake for bass. Anyone have any suggestions or tips??? Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted July 18, 2008 Super User Posted July 18, 2008 This just in...It's HOT I've been out a bit lately -- on a friend's private pond, saltwater and bass fishing in SC. Haven't been doing particularly well on Georgia bass. My favorite lake is fishing TOTALLY different from last year (the first year I had my boat), so it's a learning experience. Quote
fishbear Posted July 19, 2008 Author Posted July 19, 2008 Hit Jackson Lake last night. We fished from 8:30 - 2:30 in the morning. I caught 2 little dinks before dark on a popper. After that, it was all down hill. A few bites, buddy lost a big one in some rip rap. Had a @$%&@%%^%^ snake try to get in the boat with us.. I HATE SNAKES!!!!!!! . But the fish were all suspended out deep, nothing hit around the lighted docks. Saw lots of bluegill surfacing, but nothing as far as bass go. We threw rattle traps, crankbaits, Crigs with black zoom monsters, black and blue jigs with ragetail chunks, nadda, nien, zip, zero, blanked, lol :-/ Quote
blueatlanta Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Chris you still fishing @ JW Smith? I've been down there a few times this year and havent caught anything. Everytime i go all i see are carp swimming around, so maybe i need to start fishing for them instead. Of course it would help tremendously if i had a boat, but i dont lol. im heading up near lake burton for some camping this weekend. I'll probably head over there for a little fishing, anyone have any pointers for bank fishing on burton? i've never been there so any info would be helpful. Quote
