Hey guys,

My dad and I are taking the canoe out to a local pond on the marine base on Saturday and then to Chopawamsic Creek as well.  Anybody been fishing on base lately?  If so how is the pond action and or action on the Potomac portion of the base?

If no one has been on base, how have you guys in Nova been doing at the ponds around town lately?  What seems to be gettin em'?

I know frogs in the grass have been well for a lot of guys early in the am and Mann's Minus Ones have seemed to be a can't beat lure this year around here from spring up until now.  What about later in the day when the fish head deeper?  What are you guys throwing at the ponds around this time?  I was thinking of using my A-Jigs, Boo Jigs, Pigskin Jigs (all tipped with Yum Craw Chunks), and my 7" Zoom Trick worms on a shakey head later in the day.

Any other suggestions?

Jay, I say we hit the pond and then we have two options after that if the bite is slow at the first pond. The first option would be to fish another pond on base, the second is launch at Chopawamsic Bay from the OCS ramp.

Here is a list of what is in Chopawamsic Bay:

Carp, catfish, largemouth bass, white and yellow perch, bluegill, shad, herring, and striped bass.

"Pond" is generic.  I just want to know if anyone has fished on base, if so where and how well they did.  We are gonna fish a lot of the spots (more than likely) so I'm just looking for generic info.  Just trying to see what they are hitting on the ponds there and possibly chopawamsic if anyone has been out.

I don't need specifics.
