During pre spawn this year, I'm going to put my zen to work and try to do more with the jig and trailer.  Plan on using a balck n' blue rattler but not sure on color of pork or tube trailer to use. Keep in mind I'm in RI.

Black, blue, and natural colors would be my choice. I also like to use a bulkier trailer with less action when its still really cold. This is one of the few times I'll use a pork trailer.

Experiment with craws, zoom chunks, brush hogs ect; there are to many so don't limit yourself to just one.

i like the blue and black as well  but farther north i go the pumblikenseed works better   but i would go with a zoom speed craw as a trailer in either junebug or in a pumblikin depending on the color of the jig

Around here, my go to in spring is a straight black 1/4 oz. jig with a Zoom Super Chunk or Paca Chunk trailer. Trim up the skirt and bite a little off the trailer to make it as compact as possible. It works wonders. 8-)
