A.Do? Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I only saw hourly rates posted up. I was looking for an all day rate as well. Quote
JVM Posted May 28, 2008 Author Posted May 28, 2008 I got out there Monday also. Only a few hours, with the wife, and it was very windy, so fishing was tough to do. Anyways, Each caught a dink and missed about a dozen. Hooks too big. Bigger fish were on the offshore structure but all the visible spots were crowded and no fishfinder on the rentals. Rentals are $6 an hour with motor and battery, not bad, for a minimum of $18/3 hours. This is non-resident county pricing. The motors are nice. 12V 54# thrust. It is all flat and mostly open fields so the wind kills you. Quote
Trevor in Burke Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 What is the boat launch situation at Hunting Run? Can I back a trailer down a ramp into the water? I have a heavy Jon boat and carring it isn't an option, I need either a field or ramp that I can drive it right in the water. Please advise 8-) Quote
A.Do? Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 it's a gravel ramp, people launch with trailers all the time. Quote
John J. Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Went out on Sunday, me and my friend held a little tournament together. It was his middle brother and I, versus my friend and his little brother. We fished for about 4 hours, and my friend's middle brother and I caught a total of 9 fish (which we only kept the 5 biggest ones; culling), but they were all dinks...and my friend and his little brother caught 5, all dinks too. Needless to say at the end of our friendly tournament, we weighed in all of our fish and compared the total weights between us and it was a tie! 2 pounds 9 ounces each! It was a productive day, wish we would have caught some bigger ones though... The only thing I have to complain about is the price of the daily launch and fish fee. $10 to launch and fish for one day.....rediculous! Should have asked how much the annual pass was... Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted May 28, 2008 Super User Posted May 28, 2008 This site will give you all the permit and fee information: http://www.spotsylvania.va.us/emplibrary/HuntingRunNiRiverRulesandRegulations2008.pdf Quote
A.Do? Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Welcome back Wayne! a little off topic but how'd your trip turn out? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted May 29, 2008 Super User Posted May 29, 2008 Thanks for asking ado124. The fishing was tough for everyone. I didn't catch any double digit bass this time, but several in the 5#- 6# class. Very windy most days with air temps in the mid 90's. I finished 5th in the two day tournament. Quote
