Hung up Paul Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 A couple weeks ago people were talking about running buzzbaits at night. Any luck recently? I'm probably going to go to lake Royal tonight and give it another go. During the week, night fishing is pretty much all I can do. Quote
A.Do? Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 I'm wondering the same thing. Beeen meaning to try my buzzbaits out so let me know how you do. Quote
Trevor in Burke Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Rob and I went out Monday night on the new moon from 10:00 to 12:15 or so, We threw prop baits for the frist hour or so to no prevail, Rob alternated a white buzz bait and a torpedo and I threw a black buzzbait and texas rigged tube with rattle. Frustrated we went back to the truck to rig up some carolina rigs and then Rob got one on that, I think it was a c-rigged lizard, I didn't have any hits on the c-rigged tube, or texas rigged tube (black and blue). Finnally nearing the 11:57-midnight bite I started tossing the black buzzbait again and landed one around 11:50. That's it, it was slow, Rob had a few slaps at the torpedo, nothing serious though. The bite last night was midnight-3 something, I didn't fish it. Tonight it's a little after midnight until 3 or so again, I believe. I'll be back out doing the same thing on the FULL moon in the middle of the month. It was dark, I tore them up (7 in 45 minutes) in a bright full moon a few weeks ago in April. Quote
flippin4it. Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 We need another midnight run. When is the full moon, we should meet up and get to it again. Some of the best fishing I have done has been by the light of the full moon. Quote
flippin4it. Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I have a strange feeling I will be in my boat, floating around Burke lake dragging the ole' c-rig around "the spot". Who is jumping in? Trevor, get your boat. Quote
slomoe Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I've never been night fishing. Im taking the week off before memorial day, so I'd be down then. Let me know. Quote
knownfactor Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Same, i'm boatless but down to night fish whenever... Quote
flippin4it. Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Who is going and who does/does not have a boat? Quote
VABasser Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I've been wanting to night fish Burke for a while. When are you all planning on going I might be able to make it or if not this time maybe another. BTW I do have a boat and if I dont go with a buddy I'd have room for one Quote
okrod Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I definitely want to make it if I can. What night are you planning? I don't have a boat. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted May 11, 2008 Super User Posted May 11, 2008 I'd love to go, but it sounds like we might have more passengers than boat seats... :-/ Quote
A.Do? Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Im definitely in, I can bring my kayak if anyone is brave enough to go out other in the dark with me. I'm going to rig some kind of lighting onto it soon. So thats me, my kayak, and room for one. Quote
Trevor in Burke Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Rob you know Trent and I are in, he's almost recovered Quote
flippin4it. Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Trevor, thats great to hear about Trent (cause he owes me money). Quote
flippin4it. Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 All right guys, borrow a jon boat or something. I'm pretty sure Trevor is in with me. Unless he goes and gets his boat. Dan, get yours ready. I'll just have "feel the burn" tow you around........Or maybe I could, I just need to put you in one spot. Quote
okrod Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I'm up for the fish if someone has room on a boat. Are we looking at the 20th? Quote

That way i don't have to tow boats around. I don't want my body getting all disproportional with thighs of steel. Quote
