SimonSays Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Title says it all, I was in Nova this past weekend and went to a pond near my GF's place, it was rainy most of the day (sat) but for 1 hour it was nice and sunny, I tied on the Rat-L-Trap and hit 3, nothing big but fun to catch something! The next day I rent back to richmond (starting up a saltwater biocube...)and stopped by this lake behind my friend's apt to fish, hit 2 with the same rat-l-trap..the second fish was pretty decent =D Quote
JCrzy4Bass Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Rat L-Trap seems to be the lure of choice so far this early early spring. You and my dad Simon. I caught both mine on a Mann's Minus just like Vaparrothead did at Huntsman. Looks like the crankbait bite is pickin up fellas. Nice fish there Simon. Tear em' up buddy! Quote
slomoe Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Nice! Lemme know when your planning on hitting up yorktown agian. I got my gear ready. Quote
rondef Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Simon, Nice job, I swear by rat-l-traps. I always pull in nice fish when I use them, they hardly ever let me down. Ron Quote
SimonSays Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 I tried the Lake Fork Magic Shad at my friend's lake...hit 2 pics to come but I have to say... d@mn...the action on these...WOW...you guys need to get some, the action is crazy, the tail swims back and forth so realistically...I just wish they sold bigger sizes in the 4 packs at the walmart here.... cjbs2003 Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 That's second bass looks a solid 3 lbs. Real nice! Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted March 14, 2008 Super User Posted March 14, 2008 I did well on Traps yesterday at Briery Creek. I only lost two of them to the tree gods. About 40 of the bass I caught were with a 1/4 oz Trap, the rest were with a wacky rigged finesse worm. Sometimes it's the best lure when they are schooled up. Quote
Cytic Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Hey SimonSays, where is this apartment pond in Richmond and does it have public access? I am new to bass fishing and am looking for some spots for when I come home from Arlington to the West End of Richmond. Quote
SimonSays Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 Heya, this lake/pond is near shortpump, I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head but it's a private lake for the community. I was confident fishing there only cause I had my friend's permission. There are a few lakes open tot he public around richmond. Message Sam (his username is Sam) and he'll point you to a few places. Good luck! Quote
armesjr Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I have been catching them predominately on traps and then tossing GYCB black w/blue speck kreature baits around cover in richmond. Quote
SimonSays Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 Heya armesjr, I haven't been lmb fishing too much this year since I learned about the shad, do you happen to have any spots for lmb you'd like to share? Thanks! Quote
JShrock07 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I have been catching alot of bass out on the Potomac with a green rat-l-trap with an orange belly. Especially when the water is murky. Quote
