Clark Stewart Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Going to a conference at the state park next week. We'll be in the lodge fishing from the bank and around the state park docks when we can. Anybody ever fished that way? What's the water look like around there? Any weeds, rocks, anything? Hows the depth? We don't have a boat so we're slaves to the bank. Let me know if ya'll have any luck there ever. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 4, 2008 Super User Posted April 4, 2008 We were just there. Nothing along the shoreline at State Park that looked very promising to me. Quote
Clark Stewart Posted April 4, 2008 Author Posted April 4, 2008 no grass or anything? What about down the bank? I'm not above hopping in the car - or maybe paying 20 bucks to rent a john boat if there's something nearby Quote
jiggerpole Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 If you go down to where the cabins are, then to the boat lunch at the cabins you can walk out to the point where the access is narrow. I have caught 5 pounders in the little pocket leading to the bout ramp and sometimes early mornings the bass and stripe will push shad into the slew to feed on them. Good luck! Maybe you can hitch a ride in a boat? I'll be at Logan Martin or I'd let you hitch one with me. Fish the Rip rap, Logs and the good point and the pocket. Quote
