All you Central Florida bass folks.  I am trying to learn about weather and bass fishing.  I have read the articles and they generalize and some even conflict on what bass do when.

Lets look at this weekend and talk about what, when, where, how you would approach it.

My observations is that we have a slight decrease in temp going into Sat and Sun, its only 1 degree in lows and 4 in highs.  Does that constitute a drop in temp/pressure meaning the bite will be slow...switch to light line, go deep, small baits fished slow? Or is that small of a change not considered a "cold front"?

Lets analize your plans for this weekend and any strategy you have based on this weekend.  Maybe we could make ti a weekend thing then report back on our success/failure of your strategy.

I don't think that this weekends weather will have a huge impact like one of the major fronts pushing through.  I am looking forward to fishing some moving water this weekend with some of the runoff.  Good luck and let us know how you make out.  PS where are you fishing?

The 1 degree change will not affect anything except me sweating less.  Don't analyze too much, just fish.  I've been in Florida all my life.  The weather changes that affect the fish are the cold months, which are now gone.  From here on out it should be smooth fishing except for the wind.  The wind is a pain in the booty if your a boat fisherman.  The wind has actually kept me off the water for the past 4 days.  It's unreal.

Bottom line is, SCREW the weather and go fishing when you can.  Anytime on the water is better than nothing.

If your tournament fishing, well then that's a different story.

Well I am debating between a close favorite (Johns Lake) which is about 25 minutes from me or Tenoroc which is just a hair over an hour.  I went to Tenoroc a few weekends ago and got basically skunked (2 fish in 9 hrs of fishing) and kind of want to go back down there.  I just dont want to make the longer trip to catch a few small fish when I could travel half the distance and catch the same.

Basically I want to learn when the prime times are and make those the times to take the longer hauls.

Oh and also I forgot to mention, Tenoroc seems like a good place for wind cause when I was there I found plenty of places to get out of the wind and also was using a carolina rig the whole time...less line watching versus Johns Lake where I use mostly senkos and finesse type stuff.

I just got my boat back after a 3-week hiatus, so tomorrow looks fantastic to me ::)

Seriously, I just peeked at the WX report and it doesn't look bad at all.

The worst factor is the 30% chance of thunderstorms, but you can see them coming.

The best factor is winds out of the South, and a south wind is good no matter what direction it comes from.

A small change like that won't really affect anything. The winter cold fronts are what really shuts them down! I'm hoping the rains will bring Fish Hook back up enough for me to put in my boat. I'm curious as to how the bite is after your bad report. One thing is for sure.... that lake holds some BIG fish! Pits are great on windy days... especially the ones like Lk5 that are surrounded by walls of dirt, brush and trees!

It's called Fish Hook. The have a LOT of lakes...

Lk 2, Lk 3, Lk 4, Lk 5, Lk A, Lk B, Lk C, Lk F, Lk G, Shop Lk, Hydrilla Lk, Picnic Lk, Derby Lk, Fish Hook Lk, Legs Lk, Horse Show Lk, Half Moon Lk, Butterfly Lk, Lost Lk East, Lost Lk West, Cemetery Lk... A few that aren't open to the public and I may have missed a few... I tried to go by memory!
