bocabasser Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 fished the flats tonight from 2pm to 8 pm and caught them pretty good. best 5 would have gone 18 pounds or so. this one was about the average size fish we were catching. super fun session. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted March 29, 2008 Super User Posted March 29, 2008 Nice outing. What area did you say you were fishing? Also, missed ya last night at the tourny. Quote
bocabasser Posted March 29, 2008 Author Posted March 29, 2008 i fished lox, at the south end. fished the sign trail and caught them up. i totally forgot about that night tourny. where do you guys launch from? when are they? how much is entry? hows that baby doin? Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted March 29, 2008 Super User Posted March 29, 2008 Tourny's are every other Thursday from 6p to 10p. Launch from the boat ramp off the Lake Worth Rd. entrance to John Prince park. It's $40 per boat. You have to pre pay at Xtrteme Rods bait and tackle though. They are on Lantana rd just east of Congress Ave on the south side. The baby is doing great. He sleeps as much as I do and only cries when he's hungry. Thanks for asking. I used to fish the flats out there in Loxahatchee but thought they were all dried up due to the housing and road construction. Quote
GLADES Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 I fished at Lox(south) last week. The flats fishing was good but the gnats there were relentless. There was no wind and we were praying for a breese to chase them away. I was on the flats where the west canal bends northwest. The area near the sawgrass is relatively clear of submerged weeds. The crankbaits and spinners were working as well as trick worms. Boca, Have you ever tried fishing the area south of the Lox refuge? Where the tourist airboats beach?Ive often wondered if I could launch my procraft on that side. The water is usually lower over there. Has anyone built a ramp or is it still sand and mud? Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted March 30, 2008 Super User Posted March 30, 2008 Man, DUH, I thought yall were referring to Loxahatchee, the neighborhood. Quote
bocabasser Posted March 30, 2008 Author Posted March 30, 2008 it is way too shallow over there glades. lox has been red hot lately. on monday i went out with a friend and we had honestly 25-28 pounds for 5 best fish. we caught them all in about a 200 yard stretch. every fish was caught on a rattle trap believe it or not. if you or bassin have any time off next week, let me know. i have the whole week of and i am thinking of doing lox a day or two. let me know what you guys think.
