Do we have any pond bassers here.  What works good for you guys at ponds?

I have a lot of success with 1/8 oz. spinner baits.

Small spinner baits are always great. I like to bump the bottom with a jig or craw to look for underwater features. If you don't know what's in the pond, sometimes just a 2" curly tail grub on a 1/32 oz jighead and a light rod will get you some action and give you a feel for what's in there.

i like to throw those ten inch power worms weightless texas rigged around cover and i use a lot of husky jerks and rattle traps too

Senkos, creature baits and super flukes.  Always in black or natural colors.

I only fish ponds. Lately I've been doing really well with chatterbaits. I always do well with lizards and worms also.

               Senko's, Fat Ika's, Spinnerbaits and top water baits seem to give me a good ratio of coverage for pond fishing.

recently it's been the rat-l-traps for me, but I like Spinners, senko and fat ikas

 Really, anything you would use in large lake! Make an exception, don't use many deep diving cranks because of loseing them. Have been having good luck with T-rigged Brush Hogs, Baby Brush Hogs and Ultra-Vibe Craws. With the cooler water, Husky Jerks. Won't be long till the water warms up enough for topwater lures ...

only thing ive been successfull with so far this year is a bandit crank bait. i fish the same pond year round and my main tackle are cranks, ratl-traps, worms, lizards, and occasionally tubes.

I prefer pond fishing to "big" water, and downsize my lures 4" worms and lizards, and mini-spinners and crankbaits.

I have a small 1/3 acre pond on our land in KY and I use the same stuff I use on the big lakes, save for the deep cranks.   I do catch alot on a Rocket Shad and Senkos in it more than anything else.  Last year started frog fishin and got some good bites everywhere on it more especially in the ponds I fish.

i fish ponds almost exclusively, and weightless Senko's and of course Mepps #3's are my top producers.

O man you use mepps, use a spinnerbait not a semi-trout lure.

Yo Bassin man, mepps has caught a BUNCH of bass on those inlines!  dude is one of the only old school guys that still uses em' on here for largies.  But hey man, whatever gets that lunker on your line...so be it!  I normally use em' for smallmouth, not so much for largemouth but I'd be willing to try it in my local ponds.  Will have to transfer them from my smallmouth tackle box though.

Favorite Pond baits:

-Mann's Minus One Shallow Crank in a Frog Pattern

-Rapala Rattle Trap in a painted Firetiger Pattern

-Strike King Red Eye Special in Chartruese/White with single colorado and single willow blade

-Dean Rojas Spro Frog in a normal frog color pattern

of course I throw the occasional senko!

I have had good luck with chatterbaits, trick worms, and pop r's early and late.....in that order.......for the worms i have used june bug red, red bug, and a custom color that I accidentally discovered. I threw some watermelon reds and some red bugs in the same bag one day and didn't seperate them after my day of fishing..... the next time I went out, the watermelon reds had red splotches in em and the fish ate em up.....no pun intended......caught two 6 lbers and several around 2 lbs each within about 2 hours......been my go-to color since......have had really good luck with them......trick is not leaving them together too long.....they turn totally red if you do....have not had as good luck with the totally red ones.

 No. 3 Mepps was the first lure I used when I got serious about Bass. The only time I talked with Bill Dance (late 70s), he spoke highly of Mepps. I still keep both white and brown with silver blade and the same with brass colored blade in my tackle box. There are 2 things about them, they get hung really bad and large Bass tend to get them in their gills. Straight retrieve, yoyo'd, twitched or buzzed on top great bait ...

Spinnerbait, T-rig, ANYTHING topwater (buzz and prop baits are favorite though), weightless rigged stick baits, shallow cranks, and anything finesse for the spawn

I am a boatless bass angler, so i only fish ponds.

I use soft plastics jigged on the bottom most of the time, but i use everything like strike king sub surface spinners, roostertails, rat-l-trap, lots of jerbiats and crankbaits, sammys, everything really.

But for the last 3 weeks i havent even had one hit, let alone a catch!

So i have just been catfishing lately, and i catch over 10 like 3 pounders every time i go. Im trying to catch the 13 pound channel cat.

Speaking of Mepps--my buddy only throws gold mepps in line spinner.

He's been bass fishing for a couple years and I been bassin for 25

He outfishes me alot in quality and quantity

Topwater mostly, texas rigged worm alot, spinnerbait some. Black buzzbait seems to be the best at night!!! Catch alot of big bass at night on the buzz!!!
