GLADES Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 I was fishing in a tourney last sunday out of Clewiston and I saw 2 manatees during the morning. The were feeding on shoreline plants. One was in the channel leading out of Clewiston, the other was near Belle Glade. With some of the big gators ive seen, Im amazed they seem to coexist there. Any others sightings on the Big O or other inland lakes? I finished 5th with 5@ 9.92 lbs, with my big fish being 3.1 lbs using junebug trick worms. I lost a couple of big ones (bedding bass) at the dynamite holes using frogs. Quote
GatorBK Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I see gators and manatees together all the time they seem to get along gators prefer smaller meals they can take without much effort. I was bass fishing the St Johns river near a place called Hat Bill park and have seen manatees there. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted March 24, 2008 Super User Posted March 24, 2008 St. Johns is, or was, full of manatees. I used to swim with'em when I was a kid. Good deal on your tourney. Did you collect any $? Quote

Since it was a club tournament, there is no money for 5th place. Its not really about the money, I fish for the fun and bragging rights 8-) Quote
