Where are you fishing in the Pamukey?  I am guessing you are still in a boat.  I have been shore fishing since I winterized my boat and have not caught anything since December 1st.  My last fish was a 5.25lb LMB.

I launch out of Williams Landing on the New Kent/Hanover couny line, and I fish year round so I don't winterize my boat.

And 5.25lbs is one helluva last fish for the year lol, where'd you get him?

well bp48 you know i've been doin pretty good haha, after catchin that 7-11 and 5-4 on back to back casts, and catching lots of medium size bass every time i've gone fishin. today we hit up the james, and caught 8, biggest wa 3 pounds, i caught it but it was a pretty slow day.

I caught him at Lake Mercer. I am stuck shore fishing until I start the boat back up again, most likely toward the end of March. My friends have all winterized their boats as well. I wish I had a garage (heated) then I would not have to worry and I could use the boat year round.

Morris Creek and the upper Chick River are my cold water places to fish (now that Little Creek Res is closed). It took forever for the weeds to die off in Chick Lake this year, and the dam situation made Chick Lake a real drag most of the year.

I haven't been out in weeks. I didn't catch anything last time I was out (hence the reason I asked about drop shotting). Time before that was respectable on Morris Creek. My biggest this fall was 4+ lbs in Morris Creek. My biggest this year was 5+ lbs out of Chick Lake.

I'm probably going to hang it up until March. I've got to take some on-line classes for my insurance license. I hate taking those in the spring when I'd rather be fishing.

Wayne,

What are you using to catch all those bass if you don't mind sharing your knowledge? I have gone out a couple of times but have gotten skunked in local lakes/ponds. I tried slowing down my retrievals and I am using suspending jerkbaits but it has not helped. The places I fish have a lot of large boulders in the deep water and I have lost jigs and rigged plastics. I really wish I had access to a boat right now.

I haven't fished since it got pretty cold. Hopefully I'll be able to get out sometime this week with predicted 50-60 degree weather.

I haven't had much luck bank fishing for LMB, so to satisfy the itch I've been striper fishing at Yorktown....haven't gotten skunked there yet, average 3 per trip.  They aren't very large stripers, 2-4lbers but they're fun to catch!

When the water temp is above 43 degrees I have been catching them with a weedless wacky rigged finesse or trick worm. When the water temp. is below 43 degrees, the Silver Buddy has been the producer. Sometimes if I see them suspended in the colder water, I'll use the wacky rig to catch them, which is what I did today.

Who's up for some fishing this weekend?!

Come to richmond and we can head to yorktown and striper fish! I'll be heading there saturday night/sun morning at around 2am =P

very tempted to but since Jess is going to LA so I won't have anyone to drive me home and I'm thinking I'll be way too tired to make it home afterwards for work.

Heya Ron,

Yep, I live in NoVA but I go to school at VCU in Richmond. I've been here in Richmond working my entire winter break so I take the trip from my apt which is only about 45mins so carpooling is out  :-/.  If ya wanna meet up there that'd be great though!

Heya, planning on around 3am, i'm not sure of the street name but I think  if you were to just mapquest Yorktown it'll take you right into the small town, which is only about 5 blocks.  There's parking immediately to your right as you enter and fishing is right on the rocks.  Also there are posted no fishing signs but the police don't care as long as you have you fishing license with you, also at 3am no one is gonna bother us anyways.

I've had luck with 4in Storm Wild eye swim shads. I've been using a MH 6'6" casting rod but I just got a 7'6" Heavy, so I'll be giving that a shot with an Abu C3.

I'm really not sure why, the guy who recommended the place to me told me it was the best time to fish there.  I've been there 4 times so far and haven't been skunked yet =D

Is the place lit up or do you bring a light?  I just am unsure if I could wake up that early to go fishing.  The earliest I have left to go fishing is 4:30AM.

The place is totally lit up. Yea it's hard sometimes, much easier for me also since i'm so much closer so I understand if you're not up for it. I'll ask my friend again if there's any reason for the late times, maybe something  to do with the tides.
