Super User Shane J Posted March 21, 2012 Super User Posted March 21, 2012 I absolutely crushed 'em today. Got on the water at 5:00, and within minutes had a pattern in the works. I was tossing a Rage Shad, and following up with a swim jig/Baby Craw. Caught a 5 pounder on the Shad. Then a 3lb. Then a 4lb. This kept on for quite a few fish. Then, around 7:00, it got interesting while I was fishing the swim jig, caught a 7-2. The bass are in full pre spawn patterns, and feeding like crazy. All I was doing, was finding the places where the perch were feeding up shallow, and the bass were there. A little bit later, I was sight fishing a shallow (3-4 feet deep) flat, and saw a complete beast. I pitched my jig behind her and didn't spook her. She made a move on a perch, missed, and when she turned back around, there was my jig in her face, and she killed it! New PB of 9lbs, 1oz (23 1/4"). I have better pictures that need to be downloaded off my sim card, but for now, here's a sneak peek at what I believe to be the biggest bass in this place. I'm not gonna say where I was today, but some of you have fished here. In fact, probably most of you. So, if anyone recognizes it, don't be yellin' it out, cool? 1 Quote
unhbass37 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Hey guys, new to this forum and wanted to say hello. I was on Great pond in Kingston Nh yesterday with no luck. I don't have all my gear down here so I was fishing what I had, a Live Target blue gil and a small blk jig. Water temp was showing in the mid 50's and windy. I am normally on Winni come mid April so with all the ice gone locally I figured I would try down here. David Welcome David. A lot of good fishing in southern NH as soon as the waters warm up. Will be very soon. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted March 22, 2012 Super User Posted March 22, 2012 Shane, sweet fish, woulda live to see that thing hauled in. Quote

je1946 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Hey Shane, Just a heads up, don't know if your aware but if you register on Mustads web site and catch a new state record using a mustad hook there is a nice chunk of change coming your way, something U may want to consider, I think it's a $100,000. Again congrats on a real bigun Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 22, 2012 Super User Posted March 22, 2012 Hey, thanks, je1946. I am registered, and my Tx rig hooks are Mustads. That would be pretty sweet! I'd buy a bigger boat, and some nasty electronics with that 100 G's. Thanks again for thinkin' of me. Quote
unhbass37 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Hey Shane since you seem to always catch fish and if you want a challenge try Mill pond in Nashua behind conway arena with your Jon boat. I use to kill them there, but lately I have been getting nothing even last year. Just want to know if there are any bass left in there. LOL. There use to be 5 pounders there as I have caught them. Let me know if you decide to try it I could give you some more info if you need it. Quote
wagn Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Awesome Shane! I may not have caught fish yesterday, but I did snag a crazy deal at walmart. They had a KVD signature series rod mis-priced for $29.00. And then when it ran up, it was only $17!!! Not everyday I get a $160 rod for $17. Tight lines everyone. Quote
NHBassMaster2 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Nice fish Shane! I got out myself yesterday, weather was too good not to. As others have been stating, seeing fish in the 1-3ft range, cruising shallows preparing for spawn. If you have to time, get on the water now! They are eating everything! I happen to catch this hawg, though not quite as big as Shane's, it was a exactly 8lbs on the scale. Tight lines all! Quote
Nashua Nev Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 WOW, THE WINTER HAS TREATED THESE GIRLS WELL !!! NICE NICE NICE !!! Quote
nhbassin Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 HOLY CRAP!!!!! 9.5 and an 8. Thats incredible. Im impressed guys, those are the two biggest bass I can remember being posted on the southern NH thread in this forum in the last 3 years. Congrats guys! Quote

bobh64 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Anyone fish Swains lake in Barrington yet? Will be heading out there this weekend once I get my boat sticker. Quote
mhtranger Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 I just posted in another and went to Mendums that is just down the road from Swains and I had a great day. 5 fish overall with 2 smb and 3 lmb. All on a live target craw in orange. Quote
jaystraw Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 I got out yesterday and had a great day. All the fish were in full prespawn patterns. Biggest LMB around 4lbs and a few good sized smallies as well. Everything on a black and blue jig. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 25, 2012 Super User Posted March 25, 2012 Yeah. buddy! They are in pre spawn mode, but this front slowed the bite significantly. Black n blue jig here, too. Not many today, but got to spend a couple minutes with this 7lb,7oz honey. Tight lines, all. Keep the reports coming! Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 25, 2012 Super User Posted March 25, 2012 And this 125 lb honey, my wife, and her first bass of the year. She apparently takes better pictures than me. Quote
NHBassMaster2 Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Nice fish again! Didn't realize that Turtle held fish like that anymore. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 25, 2012 Super User Posted March 25, 2012 Most people don't because it gets hammered, and the bigger fish are just a little smarter. Until 3 years ago, the biggest fish I ever caught there, was a 4 pounder. Now I've caught 6 over 6lbs. Quote
