Yeah, I agree fmoore. We really need a warm week, or at least a really hard warm rainy patch of weather for the fishing to pick up.

Hope you had some luck this afternoon!

I got out today with my buddy for his first outing of the year, and we absolutely slayed the smallies! We left my house early when it was still pouring rain sideways, but we didn't care once we started hammering the chunk smallmouths.

Nice ones Shane!! good to see you killin' it! I guess you don't need it to warm up!

Nice fish Shane. Can't wait to get into the smallie action out here.

Found some mindblowing structure (with fish on it) on Spofford yesterday afternoon with the side scan but I haven't fished it yet. I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas. Caught 6 largemouth and a pickerel on the jerkbait again. I'm really starting to enjoy fishing it.

Thats a handful of smallies Shane! Nice largemouth too Fmoore. Good to hear that fish are getting a bit more active. Did you catch your largemouth in real shallow water on the jerkbait & crankbait?

Nice Job Shane and Fmoore! I went out for a while today to Great Pond, only one lmb and a pickerel. Fishing was slow water temps were 48-49 down a couple degrees from Fridays 52-53. The wind was strong there were white caps at one point.

They were hanging on a sharp dropoff in 8-12 feet of water. It was taking a solid 10+ second pause to get them to bite and several came up and took a look and went back down. Slight color change and/or smaller bait may have worked a bit better. Scent helped entice bites too. Water was 41

Been out only a few times so far, on Potanipo and Melendy Pond. Water temps were cold and so wasn't the fishing. A few LMB at each place and they were few and far between. Most with a slow cranked crankbait in 5-10ft of water. Really hoping for some warm weather soon. Early reports show next week to be a better weekend.

A good idea with the scent fmoore, hadn't thought of that. Can't hurt to try it at this point. This rain is killing my fishing spirits with not being able to go out. But as they say, April showers bring May flowers! :)

Cast a few at my favorite small pond up near Plymouth, NH today and found this big largemouth floating near shore. I pulled it out of the water and I am guessing it was 6.5-7.5 pounds. It was definitely one of the biggest largemouth that I have seen in NH. Too bad I couldn't have caught it before it died!

Got out today for a couple hours at great pond. Managed two lmb biggest was 2.5lb and some pickerel. Water temps were 49-50 for most of the lake in the section I caught the lmb it was 53-54. I also saw a few beds in the warm shallow water. Does anyone have a hummingbird fish finder? If so what do you have yours settings at? Im having a hard time using mine. Thanks

I got out yesterday and finally had a great day. I really needed it.

When I got to the lake it was 40 degress outside, and the water temp was 39.8 with ice still on the lake. In fact, there was still ice on the lake at the end of the day, and the highest water temps we saw were 44 at 5:30pm. Needless to say, I was not encouraged.

I caught a 2.5 LMB around 12:30 on a wacky rigged senko being sloooowly dragged across the bottom. I then caught a fish off a new tree in the water with a bitsty big.

Then I found a spot that must have been no more than 5 feet across in about 13 FOW. I was just casting into the deeper water with a tube hoping they were still mostly deeper, and I caught 2, 3 pound LMB in a row. Came back in the afternoon and caught another 2, 3lb LMB in the exact same area. No structure from what I could tell, but there was some new grass. It was awesome. I caught 7 LMB total, none less than 2.5 pounds.

Sounds like a great day Jay!!!

Saturday at Spofford was snowy and freezing. I got 7, nothing over 3. This pic was at the end of the morning (11ish) after it had started raining. I should have taken a pic of the boat while it was still snowing hard! Everything was totally covered.

This was from tonight. I fished from 2ish until 5. Boated maybe 8 or so more largemouth and spent maybe 45 mins trolling and caught 5 rainbows just for fun. Water's 46 in some parts of the lake now. I'm crossing my fingers that we can get up to 50 by this weekend. Then things will start to get interesting.

Nice fattie fmoore. I'm looking forward to this week..I'd like to catch my first trout of the year soon.

I got out on Otter Lake yesterday morning. Got 5 LMB in pretty strong wind and some rain in the canoe for my first trip of the season with it. All fish on the tube again in over 10 FOW. Water temp was 48 deg by the end of the morning.

Nice largemouth fmoore. 7 fish in the snow still isn't a bad day! I went out yesterday afternoon to a small pond and didn't get anything until much later in the evening. Got around 8 or 10 fish all in less than 2 feet of water, and they were all right on the shore where the sun had been warming up the water all afternoon. Tried jigs, crankbaits, senkos, flukes, jerkbaits and no bites until I put on a rage rooster. Got them all while it was falling right after it hitting the water. Not a lot of size to most of the fish, but here was the biggest one.

Hey guys. I recently stumbled on this site on a random search for info. Pretty impressive fish for SNH. I'm on Big Island Pond in Derry and started tournament fishing last year, so I haven't been around to a ton of places. We have our opener this Sunday on Bow Lake. Anyone have any tips? I've been there once not for a tournament but that was middle of summer, never fished it pre-spawn. Any info would be much appreciated.

Haven't been able to get out much yet this year, the lake is still really low and I haven't been able to get the bass boat in the water. Hope it starts on Sunday!!

I hit Cobbetts pond this morning for my first time on the water this year. Caught 7 lmb all between 1 and 3 lbs, in about 3 hours, 7am til 10 am. Great feeling to finally be on the water again.

Welcome, CLR! This is the spot for info, for sure! I can't personally help you on that lake, but there's a couple guys that fish there regularly, and I'm sure they'll chime in with something for ya! Hang around, and be sure to let us know how you do.

Bow Lake is fun. I have had good luck there. I have had good luck around the islands in the smaller part of the lake. Lots and lots of rocks.

I have not fished the big part of the lake a lot as i have only a 12 ft jon boat.

I have had great luck there with a black flatfish with silver spots. Easily my favorite lure to throw there. Although i have not been there yet this year.

I hit up Freese's Pond in Deerfield and Horseshoe Pond in Concord this afternoon. I struck out at Freese's, but managed to land 2 at Horseshoe on a t-rigged baby brush hog. I also hooked a snapping turtle that was probably about 15 inches long. I got it in as close as I could and cut the line as I would like to retian all of my fingers.

My 12 yr old and i hit Turtle pond in Concord for 2 hours late wed in the jon boat. We had fun but had no fish.
