Big Phish Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I haven't gotten my boat in the water yet but I've done some shore fishing in local lakes without much luck. I'm planning on putting the boat in the water sometime this week and was wondering; has anyone had any luck? If so where? Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted March 29, 2011 Super User Posted March 29, 2011 South Jersey here (where are all of the Jersey guys period ? ) Been doing ok the last few weekends, especially when the sun is out. Tiny crankbaits on ultralight have got me a few nice bass and a ton of crappie. Only catch on plastic has been one small bass on a 4" worm. This recent cold snap sucks.... Quote
Big Phish Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 yeah the cold is killing me. its the reason i havent put my boat in the water yet. I dont wanna commit to being out for a while in weather like this. Quote
Quigz Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 The short answer is "NO!" This has been for me, the worst start to any fishing season ever. I am in Northern, NJ and I have yet to catch anything. In fact, I can't even snag the bottom! I've been throwing Jerk Baits, Flukes, Senkos - not even a sniff. I'm hoping it's the recent unseasonable cold weather we are having...... Quote

i said ALL day Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Everything is 2-3 weeks behind thanks to the colder then usuall spring. Watch the water temps.bass in the north will usually start hitting well when the surface temp gets up to 53-54 degrees! Try a lipless crank bait in a red craw color, works well for me in spring!
