grampa1114 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 So I finally found my way down there...interesting directions...very nice ramp and parking lot...lots of parking...unfortunately today there was a 20-30 mph wind blowing down the pond and I was by myself so I didn't get to put in...but...the trailer towed well...Hoping for a better Sunday. GrundleLove Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 As it stands now, its supposed to be pretty windy on Sunday. That's why I hope to get there early and maybe beat it out. Although, its mid week and things can change. Quote
GTrombly Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I hate fishing on really windy days. My father and I went out for the last day of the year and we couldn't even hold the boat with an anchor, d**n gusts were crazy. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted April 6, 2011 Super User Posted April 6, 2011 I'm planning on getting there at sunrise, bundled up with several layers of clothes. Fishing is never fun when you're cold. It doesn't look like my buddy will be able to make it. That will open one seat for anyone who wants to fish but doesn't have a boat. Quote
The one that got away Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I just picked up this thread. I would love to get down there, but it is doubtful with my kids' spring sports starting up. There is an outside shot at me getting down there early and taking off around noon. I don't have a boat, so maybe I could grab a seat if there is one available. Quote
GrundleLove Posted April 9, 2011 Author Posted April 9, 2011 Tomorrow is the big day. I am going to be there EARLY maybe a little after sunrise tomorrow ( depending on how shattered I get tonight, got some charity bowling thing) with my sweet sweet ride (lol) The weather is going to be great, sun and clouds all day with a possibility of showers but that will be LATE tomorrow night if any at all. the wind is also supposed to hold out and should not be too bad. 65 degrees...great fishing day for sure. Please, anyone who is attending please PM me your cell # OR request for mine if you want, that way (as Rhino said) we aren't all shouting across Monponsett. Some people said they can not make it but are interested in doing this again in the future, which is good. Dont forget to print out maps etc and make sure all your gear is in order. I will be here a majority of the day to check PM's Quote
grampa1114 Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Remember the part where I said I wasn't in total control of my life....Well I located the ramp just fine....The boat and all my equipment are running sweet....and then...and then....The phone call...My wife and I are babysitting until noon. You guys will be gone by then. Maybe next time. Quote
GrundleLove Posted April 9, 2011 Author Posted April 9, 2011 gone by then? I dont think so. This is an all day event for me. I dont plan on leaving until sunset. Realistically, probably 3-330 either way, sorry you couldnt make it. Quote
The one that got away Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Unfortunately, I will not be able to be there tomorrow. I'll be watching for future get-togethers. I want to see some pics posted tomorrow night! Quote
GrundleLove Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 So it turns out it was just me and Rhino out there enjoying the perfect fishing conditions. I brought my boat, which engine would not start because it hates me. So I hopped on his and we went to work . I think we caught 7 or 8 all together, which is good because there were other people fishing and the ones who i talked to didn't catch anything so that felt good. Rhinos got me hooked on Senko's. Here are some pics of our best 2 fish. You guys missed out. Next time for sure Quote
bassmedic46 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Nice fish, Looks like it was a great day. Quote
The one that got away Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Good to see some fish being caught, looks like you guys had a decent day. Wish I could've been there. Quote
GrundleLove Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 oh yea, something you may have not known about Rhino: He literally keeps an entire bass pro shop in his boat. Never seen so much tackle in my life. Quote
SamCFBC Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I just picked up on this thread and hope you guys do this again. I'd love to get out there if I'm free. I'm a non-boater in a bass club. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted April 24, 2011 Super User Posted April 24, 2011 Road Trip has come and gone. Time for GL to organize another get together, with more attendees. Quote
GTrombly Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Well the boat is finally finished so hopefully I can make the next one. I put pics up in the boat forum. Quote
GrundleLove Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 I am totally down with a new get together, and like Rhino said, with more people. I ironed out all of my boat issues and its running like a ...well...as good as it can ROFL. I send a PM to Rhino to inform him that I hit up Monponsett again on sunday and absoloutly murdered it. 3x 4.5's and a numerous amount of 1#'s and change. including a 3#+ Pickerel that looked like a pike. I am totally down for going to another spot, so if anyone has ideas or suggestions for another place please post it in this thread 1 Quote
grampa1114 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I will be happy to give it another try. Fished with Rhino today. If you ever need a 1 let me know. Quote
