Fished shepherdstown and destroyed the 10" bass. Not a keeper all morning. Bait of choice was fluke and pop-r.

Yeah snakeheads are in laurel! I work with a guy who caught one there about two weeks ago.

There was one caught on the eastern shore in Tuckahoe, and they just reported that they made it past Great Falls on the Potomac, they are here to stay...

I hit the C&O at Williamsport for a short outing this morning. Managed a couple on a sweet beaver and lost what felt like a better fish. Everything died after that stupid tour boat went through. Good to know there's still a few fish in there.

I saw the lower section is filled back up. Anyone know if they actually put anything back in there?

I haven't posted much lately.  I've done pretty decent at Culler lake this year and hit and miss at Black hills.

I did take the kayak out in the Potomac yesterday and slammed them, caught over 30. The biggest going 13" and I'd say average fish 10" or so.  The water was crystal clear and I was just bouncing teaser tubes off the bottom and them some top water in the evening.  I put in at Mouth of Monocacy and paddled up to just past the 1st island.  I decided to take Tuesday off work to get back out there and see if I can catch some more!

Hahaha boat tour. My woman was operating the boat in the afternoon. They are going to be raising the old train drawbridge in the future so the boat tour can go all the way into the basin. I'll ask her if they stocked the lower section.

Had a club tournament at Piney Run Sunday and caught a lot of fish. Now if I can just remember how to post a pic?

I heard they were going to eventually get that drawbridge working again. Thanks for checking about the lower section!

So I have a little time this evening, so I pop over to the pond in Sharpsburg to wet some line. I get there are have the place to myself (pretty cool). So just before dark, someone shows up, grabs their rod and walks down to the pond. So I'm standing on the one side close to the parking lot throwin a frog across the slop to the other side. Missed one shortly before the kid shows up. Well, what does he do? Walks right down to the edge not 20' from me and starts casting, even points out my bait to his girlfriend. Never says a word to me even after I said something to him. I really hate inconsiderate morons that can't respect someone fishing or even ask if it's ok to fish the same spot too. I ended up leaving instead of wasting time on someone that just has no clue.

Done with my rant.  :angel500:

Since I did so well on Sunday on the Potomac I took today off and fished it from about 1:00 - 8:00

1st cast of the day with a 4" stick worm wacky rigged -

Never a good sign for me when catching one on the 1st cast.  Moved up the river a bit more and about 7 cast later -

Bam, something crushes my worm, set the hook and hold on.  He jumped right away and when I saw him all I can think of was, "Did I really just see that?"

He put up a heck of a fight on the kayak - came in at 18 1/2"  I wish I had my scale but I've never seen anything this big on the Potomac at  Mouth of Monocacy.  He was heavy, if I had to guess he was every bit of 3lbs. I'd love to know how close to 4lbs he was. Oh well, I'll have my scale on the river from now on.

I have to congratulate Nate on his Four Locks win which wouldn't have been possible without Ernst Market jerky.

The Gunpowder River beat me up today.   Whew, not sure if the fish were gun shy from the yesterday's tourney or what.

My club fished in laurel,de sat eve 4pm to midnight. I fished horsey pond and had 9lbs total. Had a 6lber short strike my swim jig 5 ft from the boat. All bags were over 8lbs. Ponds fished were horsey, records, and chipmans. All the fish were cookie cutters really.

Hit the Potomac again this evening.  Another 20+ fish, and my 2nd 18" Smallie in 2 weeks.  So far this has been a fantastic year fishing for me, topped both my personal best for Largemouth and Smallmouth.  Let's hope I catch these guys in the fall after they eat some more.

Anyone see where aaron martins was today? I found it interesting that he passed up the sassafras and ran down to dundee and saltpeter

Not sure where he went, but I guess it paid off for him.

I went to the weight-ins today (first time going to an event like this) an I have to say it was a pretty cool event.

Took my boys and wife and the only pro I got to talk to was Mike Iaconelli and have to say he was a super nice guy.  He actually pulled back to the docks on his way to take his boat out of the water to let a few people get a picture with him.  He let me boys (twin 6 years olds) climb into his boat for a picture and took the time to answer the 1000 "what's that" questions my boys had for him.

Wait what did I miss? Where are these pros fishing?
