Super User Munkin Posted March 14, 2015 Super User Posted March 14, 2015 Hows It going my fellow Maryland anglers. New to the firum and it looks like a lot of the treads I read are from people relatively close to where I live here in Frederick. Thanks to a friend I work with I got hit hard with the bass fishing bug this past summer. Cant get enough. We fish the southern end of Tridelphia most of the time on his bass boat and I hit a couple ponds in Middletown I have permission to fish. I was hoping I could get a couple suggestions on decent places to fish near Frederick that i may have over looked. Just purchased a Native ultimate FX12 kayak to get off the bank and to the fish. Does anyone have info on Greenbrier or Cunningham falls lake as far as how they fish. Cant wait for the ice to go and to get a line in. Thank you in advance for any information. Tight lines! Read through this thread and you will get some ideas. The two places you listed are good to start with but Greenbrier has a lot of small fish. Allen Quote
Bill Poch Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I managed to get a line wet this afternoon at a pond in frederick. Water temp at the shore was 47.3. No fish but got to break in my new baitcaster. Picked up an abu garcia silver max on a 7 foot med/fast rod Im going to try the canal at Dickerson tomorrow and maybe check out the potomac and see how it looks 1 Quote

Bassaholic84 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Anybody been by Black Hills to see if ice has melted yet? Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted March 15, 2015 Super User Posted March 15, 2015 Black Hills is still ice covered as of Friday Quote
MARsSPEED Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Linganore is still frozen over. I was able to get a line in at the smaller lake but no bites. I am now thinking the last weekend in March may be the first Bass 2015 for myself. I hope the rest of you catch one sooner! On a bright note, looks like we will be booking our family vacation to Orlando sometime in late April or early May. Last time we went I had not started fishing again yet. I may skip golf this time around and replace it with fishing instead. Quote
Bill Poch Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Black Hills is still ice covered as of Friday Well crap. I was hoping to get a boat on there the 21st C&O at Dickerson is still frozen over and this is what I was meet with today when I was going to hick up to the discharge area. Quote

jtphenom Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 ^ He would have caught at least one more if I hadn't jumped in his spot and caught a little 1.5 pounder that was slow to figure out what was going on. Lol Quote

Lol I believe this above sentence fully explains how well jtphenom understands fishing etiquette Just glad to see you catch one too. If Black Hills still has ice on it Sat I'll be pond hoping all day instead with my bro if you're interested. Quote

Allen I just happen to live right outside Detrick, and work at Detrick so it's a nice little place to run to when short on time. I managed another at lunch today - 3.8lb's It was really windy though. Caught him at the same spot I got the other 2 yesterday. If it's Seans secret spot, I won't tell anybody. Quote
basser89 Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 The only spots I have never shared are toothy critter spots. LOL! Nice fish Bill! Now that I'm back in Washington county, I need to "re-learn" where to go up here. 1 Quote
