You need to walk through a little bit of brush to get around the a clearer side, other than that there are some pretty ok trails.

Just got back from black hills, water temperature is around the 50 degree mark depending on where your at on the lake. They're starting to move around, water is still a little stained in some areas but still managed to catch a couple.

For the record, I hate that place. I haven't spent much time trying to figure it out.  With that said I did manage a 3.6 pounder last night.

With Culler being renovated this year, Whittier is the next closest lake for me to fish on week day nights.  So, I will be more than willing to share anything I learn from there assuming info is shared with me too.

Last night I tried a lipless crank and a black and blue chatterbait. Got nothing.  Tied on a 2 to 3 inch bluegill swimbait I got for xmas just to see the action.  I caught this one about 10 feet from shore with a steady medium retrieve.  I think it was about 5:45 in the evening.

I am really interested in trying my hand at some of the assorted top water lures I have collected over the winter.  When do you guys usually find the topwater lures start becoming productive?  

Generally Memorial Day weekend is the start of topwater season for me. It will vary year to tear but in general that is a good milestone of when you can start using topwaters.

Nice fish! I went today from about 3 - 6 pm. Was throwing around a little kietech swimbait at first , and in the first 3 casts while I was about to lift the bait out of the water I saw a fish (looked to be around 2.5 lbs) swipe at it. So I kept that thing on for about another hour. Tried a black and blue chatterbait as well and a bright red lipless. Thinking I was fishing too fast, should have tried a shakey head or other finesse technique. The water is pretty murky though. I liked the look of the place though, seems promising. Might go back tomorrow or over the weekend.

FINALLY! First bass of 2016. Nothing special of a fish but definitely lifted my spirits! Caught em on a keitech swimbait. A whopping 1.6 pounds!

Up at Cunningham falls , hunting creek lake, for the maple syrup festival thing, so I just did a little exploring of the lake! Just walking along the shoreline I saw a number of little 1 pounders swimming off structure ! Might have to come up tomorrow and do a little fishing. Any idea how the fishing is up here?

I have never had any luck from shore, but have only been there when the water was at either a very high or very low extreme.   Talked to a guy who was getting his boat out of the water and he said that the best bite there seems to be on sunny days casting to shade, otherwise it's tough.  I plan on brining my kayak up there this summer.

There were tons of boaters and kayakers out today! And a few were sitting on the bank with rods in holders. Didn't ask anyone how the fishing was but wish I did, didn't feel like yelling out to the boaters .

If I can't find a boater to go with may just have to go to the Urbana pond tomorrow. There are some decent fish in there just have not figured that place out though. Anyone else heading out tomorrow?

I fished a tourney at Millsoboro pond today in DE and tanked horribly. There was a 6 and 7lber caught but not much else. A few pike, crappie,and yellow perch on jerk baits. Not what i expected for 58 to 60 degree water. Disappointed for sure.

Might see you there! Been twice with no luck whatsoever. Should have warmed up  a little more since last time I went though.

I have been out of town for work and am dying to get out. I fly home tomorrow morning and hope to hit a local pond in the afternoon.  

It's funny, I live within 20 min of a ton of great salt/brackish spots but I have bass on the brain and keep going to the same dinky little pond. 

Can anyone recommend a good place in the AA County area to get a roof rack installed?  My factory one is too low to easily load my kayak on and I need to hit some better water ASAP, but I hate driving far with my current set up.

I have a Rav4 with a factory rack and crossbars.  They are so low to the roof that both my yaks, but especially my new one, a Slayer 10, will rub the roof when tightly strapped down.  I have some foam I wedge inbetween but it is a pain, especially in the wind.  I also want to be able to load both boats and the factory rack is not rated for enough weight.  

The Slayer is too fat for J-cradles so if I want to double up I am going to need to stack so in addition to the weight I would like a bit more width

I managed to get out at Black Hills today from 3:45 - 6:30. Caught one on a Fat Ika around 15".  Switched to a weightless fluke in the last half hour and lost two.  Saw a boater manage several on a white spinnerbait during my time there.  Nice to get out and catch my first fish of 2016!

There is a boat for sale around my area. My dad and I have both been wanting to get a boat to use on the river and some lakes around here. The boat is fiberglass, however, and I'm not sure whether or not that's a good idea for the Potomac. Any thoughts? It would be my first boat.

Fiberglass and props don't go very well on the upper Potomac except in a couple areas like Big Slackwater. It's very shallow and rocky. Better off looking for an aluminum jet.

Anyone hit the Potomac recently, I am prefishing for a club tournament Friday for Saturday.  What was water temps and water clarity?

Its been a weird spring here in MD. The water warmed up quick, and with the cooling trend and rain, vis is fairly bad. The fish are shallow, but ignoring just about everything for me. I have managed about a dozen in 3 trips, including a 6 1/2er. Normally I'd be crushing on a jerkbait and swimjig, but hasn't been the case. I know they are here, I get bumps, and pushes. Most have come off reaction bites. I don't bed fish, so I may need to settle for dinks for a while. Come on top water!

Hey Guys , went to little Seneca today for a couple hours , water is still stained with 50 degree average water temperature ,  did find some 54 degree water. Caught a handful of fish all on a spinnerbait, which I love to fish but kinda got away from the last couple years. Talked to a couple guys at the landing and they caught em on spinnerbaits as well . So next time you  go you might wanna bring a few .

Went to Whittier lake for the second time and landed this 3 lb 12oz fish! Only bite all day but couldn't be happier! Was going to go to Urbana pond but the place was packed with people! On a black and blue chatterbait. Also, someone told me there was a pond up past gambrill that had a ton of big bass, he told me to look up Hamburg, but I can't seem to find it, any ideas where he is talking about?
