nosdog2 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 The Bass Master Elite are up in North East, MD right now. Quote
Bill Poch Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 No monsters this weekend but the average size is up. Took off work Friday and hit up the Potomac from about Noon to Sundown. I lost count of how many I caught. No 18" this time. I did see 2 while paddling up river that could have been 20" Best was this 14" that was nice and fat. A few others to that were about the average size for the day. 1 Quote
Lendiesel22 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 I hit up the south river today for some multi species action. We got a bunch of jumbo white perch, several 16-20" rockfish, and 4 pickerel. Nice change of pace on light line. Quote
Edub Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Nice Bill. I've been taking the yak to black hills the last few Sunday mornings. Trying to figure the lake out. My best fish was about 4lbs Just west of the 121 bridge. Have a lot to learn there but have not been skunked yet. I'm thinking the fish are down deeper like 15 to 20 ft.I may have to hit the Potomac this Sunday and check out the small jaw action. I haven't been to Culler in a few weeks since the move to Mtown. I'm open to any suggestions on black hills this time of year from our forum folks. I always launch from 121 out of respect for the boat crowd so I haven't really explored the east side of the bridge a whole lot. Tight lines. Quote

I've been on the yak a few times at Black Hills but I'm convinced I need a fish/depth finder to be able to catch fish from a boat there. With the Potomac being so close I'd rather the guarantee of catching a bunch of fish instead of going to Black Hills and hope. I found some guy on youtube that fishes Black Hills and puts up a lot of videos. He's been drop-shotting most of the summer and manages a good 10 fish per outing. If you hit the Potomac up this weekend, I've been going out from Mouth of Monocacy and paddling up just past the 1st island staying to the right of the island and drifting down fishing. All I've been using have been 4" watermelon wacky rigged Senkos and 2 3/4" tubes. I went tonight and am about to put up a few pics Quote
Bill Poch Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 More Potomac action tonight, managed two 16" Smallies and a boat ton of 12-14" to go along with them. Quote
nastynate Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I got out this morning and tinkered around in front of the dam in williamsport catching a few small ones and a few rocks. Got back to the house and crawled into bed.....knock..knock..knock TW delivery. End of story. Thursday night tournament at 4 locks. Hope to catch some fish. Quote
KenLattimore Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I haven't posted in a awhile, but I've been fishing Black Hills (as usual) alomst every weekend. The weeds have really grown in in the past couple of weeks. I've had alot of success throwing a weightless senko at the edge of the weed beds. If I don't get a hit at the edge, I drag it across the top of the weeds just fast enough so it won't sink and they've been smashing it. Went out Saturday morning and landed four in two hours...I don't have a scale (I know, , but all averaged 16". I may throw a frog this weekend, but don't want to deal with the lower hook-up ratio given the success I've had. Quote

Edub Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Hit Little Seneca Friday from about 7am to 3pm. Paddled all of the lake on the west side of the bridge and to first stick up cove on the east side. Had no luck all morning.Missed a few in the stickups way out west. The wind was a bit much to fish back there in the yak. So off to the east side I went. Caught 2 just past bridge 1 14" and one 17". Went to the stick ups and a friend and I were hammering them on the Ned rig. Largest 19". the bite died after an hour or so. Not a bad B day off work doing what I love. Next Sunday I'm hitting the Potomac for sure. Quote
nastynate Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Got out this morning a caught a redemption fish after Saturdays dink fest at sleepy creek. Is it fall yet! Quote

Managed two- one went 20" on a senko being dragged on top and another going 14-15" on a Live Target frog. It's a pretty short window with no bites once the starts shining bright. 1 Quote

Lendiesel22 Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Did well on the Marshy Hope river today. 20 or so bass. Biggest was just under 4lbs. They wanted a rage menace and they were real tight to the cover. Quote
basser89 Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 Got out this morning. FINALLY got to hit Black Hills for the first time all year. Spent most of the morning back at the stick ups. I see we lost another "stick up" to the water. I can't believe how grown up the weeds are around that section any more. Does no one fish from shore there? LOL! Having no luck there, I switched up and tried the back wash area for a while before it was time to head home. I found a decent one hanging out in one of the old spots I used to find them. I picked her up on an "old school" bait I haven't thrown in a while, a Norman Weedwalker! After a good fight, I put her on the scale. She went 4lbs 5oz. And as soon as I figure out how to get the pic off my phone, I'll post a pic. Quote
Anantha Patel Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Seems that some of the weeds in HoCo are above usual levels. Everywhere now is a "weed bed." Quote
