With the Potomac river gauge at 1.4 feet today I decided to wade up at Harper's Ferry after work tonight.  It's by far one of my favorite places, it's just so beautiful up on the river up there.  Any way, manage a few dinks and a nice 2lb smallie.  I missed a couple on a Bass Pro mini tube.  I think my hooks are too small for the tubes and didn't penetrate through the tube. Gotta figure out the right hook to use.  It was just T rigged on a small worm hook.

Any way, had a 1st tonight, this was after I pushed the barb the rest of the way through, had to then hike a mile back to the Jeep and another 15 min drive to my friends house to cut it.

Apparently, I was the fresh catch of the day.  As long as I have been fishing, I new it was going to happen sooner or later. But, I'd take arm over face any day.  It was by pure dumb luck.  I have a back pack tackle bag with fishing rod holder. I had my ultra light on the tackle bag with the jitter bug on, when to take the back pack off, Wham!  Good thing I had a buddy there to come over and cut the line and help out, his exact 1st words were "dude, you're in bad shape" LOL.  At 1st it was 2 of the 3 hooks from the treble hook, thank god on the 2nd one it didn't get past the barb.

Surprisingly, it didn't hurt as much as I imagine it would. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't pleasant.  We both looked at each other and said, too bad we don't know the cool method of getting this out with fishing line.  I've seen the video's before of doing it, gonna study up now. I only had 10lb line in my bag anyway, so not sure if that would have been strong enough for it though.

But I caught a 2lb smallie, so I'm calling tonight a win.

The boat got to see the water for a second time this month yesterday. Minikin and I went and played in the rocks a few weeks ago at Taylor's landing only to catch a few smallies. I think Allen had two keepers and I had the typical potomac short fish. Over the weekend I updated software to the hummingbird to keep it fresh and after resetting everything back to factory default I went out after work yesterday to play around and maybe catch a fish or two. Has anyone ever tried to setup a fish finder with fishing polls in the boat? Try it and see how long you stay focused on the finder. Lol. The evening wasn't full of numbers of bass but got 3 in the boat and one got to be a new lake best for me. Went to turn on the go pro for pics and the battery was dead so I had to settle for a blackberry one arm shot. The fish measured at 22" and weighed right at 6lb. Not to shabby for a summer fish. Would have like to hook up with that at the spawn and see the weight then.

Anyone know how the water level is from Hancock up river towards Cohill Station this time of year? To shallow to run, or OK with a jet? Gauge reads 3.05 this morning. Thinking of motoring up to Cohill Station and fishing my way back down one day this weekend. I grew up in Hancock but haven't taken a boat up past the 522 bridge since I was a kid.

Not sure what my buddy had tied on, but i had a texas rigged strike king rage rail craw trying to punch the lily pads, but I wasn't getting many hits, so I started fishing it in large gaps in the lily pads like a swim jig, and missed one, and then caught one.

Ran up to Middletown Pond tonight after the storm came through. Only managed one little 2 pounder on a wacky rig watermelon senko. Only the 2nd one I've caught out of there.  Hoping to get the they yak out on the river this weekend.

I mostly fish Rocky Gorge and liberty those days, but lake elkhorn was my home lake so I fish there quiet frequently when I

Oh really when was that where did u have the most success and what's the biggest u got outta there I work near by so I go there every day on lunch and sometimes in the morning

The biggest I have caught is closer to 4.5lb, and I pulled it out near the floating dock at north of the lake. Do you fish north side or south side during your lunch? Sometimes I found rock side can be productive as well, and nothing really big there but I can always catch a few there.

I'm not sure how deep it is throughout but it isn't very shallow the structure is very unstable to wade so I haven't ventured very far into the water. It is very productive though I've caught that monster and maybe 4or 5 bass around 5-6lb there and several 3-5lb. I generally use topwater early and very late and toss some tubes or small worms with the fly rod. My buddy has seen some success with Kelly worms but I despise those snaggers! I go there or other ponds if o get out of work in time if I can't get to a river. Sometimes everyday for a little, bit things have been hectic lately. Hit me up next time you're there always look I for a fishn buddy! 4438270222 jus shoot me a text

Put the KVD 2.5 in the tree last night. Went to get in and I was in for a surprise. At the dusky hour my hand made it the closet it's ever wanted to be to a ticked off wasp nest of some sort. Trolling motor to 100 and zoom out......snap!! they can have it. Being afraid of bees and being inches away from putting my hand in the danger zone I almost had my first panic attack. But on the other note the fish loved the crank bait all afternoon.
