Jtrout Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Nice catch! When I go to elkhorn I haven't picked up much other then some dunks by the playground. Any advice? I usually go around the lake to the left side n throw t rigged worms because this time of year the lake is thick with vegetation and any thing will get hung up. I mostly do catch under 2lbers. But get a good one once in awhile. I have seen some 5+ bass caught there. Quote

Jeremy pharmareaps Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Didn't ha e the patience to find the last page on here on mobile bit figure I would introduce myself here. I am Jeremy live in millersville. I fish everyday if work let's up early I either hit a local pond or river(pax, patapsco, all gunpowdr, monocacy, potomac, etc) 3 fly rods 7ft 3wt st croix 8ft9 5wt tfo and 8ft9 7wt and a few spinners. Smallmouth are my target trout second and largemouth. I fly for everything I can if wadeable or kayak friendly. Always looking for some fishing buddies. Just did an 18hr float down monocacy over 100 smallies a few 15-18inch all on a 3wt. Best so far was a 9lb largemouth on a pot belly popper on my 5wt in snakehead pond in Crofton. Full fledged fishing addict I live on severn run but refuse to waste any time on that trickle Quote
Jtrout Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 9 lb in crofton I'm from that area I live five minutes away. When did u catch it? It's the pond behind the shopping center right? Quote
Jeremy pharmareaps Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Yes I want to say two months ago I thought it was a beaver to be honest it just got dark and was misty the frogs were going nuts in the back corner right by parking lot near smaller pond. One splash off a pad and wham! Didn't weigh it so really could be anywhere in the 7 to 9 range honestly. There are many up to 5 and 6 in there Quote
Jeremy pharmareaps Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 There was also a whole school of shad stuck in the back third "pond" I waded through with a broken net that I used to block their path once I flushed them into the weeds and would grab their tail walk back to a bucket and take them back to the patuxent behind the ponds one by one I got about a dozen out of there up to 20 or so inch only one hickory. I saw a bunch f activity and thought they were snakehead or some other experiment from someone's fish tank then I saw the forked tails and went to work! there was a heron that wast very pleased though. It seemed the fish were stirring up oxygen bubbles from the weeds and rising to sip them. The rest have Died off by now I believe. Poor flood victims Quote
MARsSPEED Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Lost three really nice fish today thanks to Stren 12lb. Fluoro. Can't wait for my new tackle to get shipped. Linganore has been ok this year. I have landed one around 6 six lbs, (22"), got one earlier this week that was 21.5" and likely around 5lb. Many fish between 16"-18"... This year has been much more of a learning experience with tackle more than anything else. I think last year was just beginners' luck. Hopefully this order coming in results in landing more quality fish. Hope everyone is enjoying there summer! This weeks catch and second biggest of the year. 1 Quote
Jeremy pharmareaps Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 For the life of me I cannot figure out how to post a photo on here. Says couldn't open selected file as it does on Facebook through my phone (I'm the stubborn guy who recently upgraded to a somewhat "smart" phone) it lets me on instagram but it has to be cropped. Tried the image shrinker app... Quote
