wv Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my fellow MD anglers! Here's hoping Santa fills your stockings with lots of goodies! I want to say Merry Christmas to all as well. Not sure last time I posted or last time we fished for that matter. Starting the first day of vacation in late August my mother-in-law went in hospital. Off and on until her passing in mid-Octber she was in and out of nursing homa nd hospital. Dean and I haven't done much since. Hoping to get our licenses soon...probably get our MD Non-Res again. Maybe get to meet some of you all in person. Hope you all have a great New Year too. 1 Quote
basser89 Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 Well, another year has come and gone. How'd everyone do? Haven't tallied my log yet to say for sure here. Hope everyone has a happy and safe new years eve! Will have to get my 2014 license soon! Quote
Smiths.R Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 For Baltimore County: Loch Raven is LOADED with fish. The springtime is lights out there...until the weeds come in. The grass grows VERY VERY VERY thick there. Fishing from shore is just about impossible once it comes in. You really need a boat, or rent one. The bay is right next to you, I would fish that. Dundee creek is an amazing fishery, as is the Gunpowder. Also, the flats and the Susquehanna are not far from you either. Quote

I caught some trout out of the Gunpowder this past month in the Hereford area. Looks like Dundee Creek is just up the road from me. Any tips on where the most access is from the shore? Like would I be better off going down by Marshy Point Nature Center or Gunpowder Park down at the end of Eastern Ave? Also the Gunpowder is pretty long with lots of different areas. Do you recommend any for bass? Most of what I've seen of the Gunpowder looks more like trout waters than bass. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted January 8, 2014 Super User Posted January 8, 2014 The 2014 season is fast approaching, if you live in the Germantown Maryland area and have thought about joining a bass club Fish On Bass Anglers is looking for both boaters and co-anglers. We are a local club but fish a variety of locations, Black Hills, lower Potomac, Lake Anna, Lake Gaston, Smith Mountain and Deep Creek to name a few. The philosophy of the club is to have fun, be social and teach. I have been in the club for several years now and can honestly say it has been a lot of fun and I have learned a lot. If anyone is interested the website is www.fishonbassclub.com. If you have any questions just send me a PM I will be happy to answer any questions. Quote

About the closest I've made it to anything fishing related is getting my license, replacing a few lures I lost last season and making it to the Cabin Creek Bassmasters show on Sunday. LOL! Quote

nastynate Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I caught one smallie after the fishing expo on Sunday. There cold, use scent and slow presentation and cross your fingers. Went to the hot wall Monday after the sun went down and caught a hand full of goggle eye. It's to dam cold now. Hopping to fish the st. Judes tourney and four locks coming up. Quote

nastynate Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I went sat and Sunday. Saturday I was there with my woman about 10.30 to 11:30 and on Sunday I was there by myself 9:30 to almost 12. Picked up some goodies. If I knew you were gonna be there I would have stuck around to introduce myself. I went Sunday to actually meet 2 other guys I met on Instagram from the middle town area. This year we need to have a meet and great BBQ somewhere so we all can meet everyone. You pick up anything at the expo Sean. Quote
basser89 Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 It was a.last minute decision to go Sunday, otherwise I would've posted. Would've been great to meet up with some more "locals"! Only picked up a pair of spinnerbaits and a pair of buzzbaits. Resisted the urge to stock up on some soft plastics. LOL Quote
Super User Munkin Posted January 24, 2014 Super User Posted January 24, 2014 . This year we need to have a meet and great BBQ somewhere so we all can meet everyone. Organizing a get together at Black Hills has been on Seans "to do" list for about 3 years. We need to keep poking him to actually organize one this year. Allen Quote

Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted February 13, 2014 Super User Posted February 13, 2014 Still looking for some good spots since the move. I've recently been considering Centennial Lake in Howard County. From the pics Ive seen and what Ive read it seems like there's a ton of accessible shoreline to fish and the possibility of a tiger muskie is intriguing. Anyone ever fished it? Quote

Yes dude i live ten minutes away from it. so basically, its only good if you know what your doing, there are lots of people there so you need to choose a wise spot and stick to it. and there is a tiger muskie or two in there. i caught one un intentionally while i was ice fishing this afternoon. maybe i can show you around, we can meet up there when bass spawn and have a fun time 2 Quote

Where do you fish at Centennial Lake during spawn? Rock side? Quote

Cool man, thanks. Looking at google maps, it looks like all 3 are relatively close to each other so I'll probably check them all out and see whats gonna work best for me. How bout Harford county...any one know any good spots from the bank up in that area? Quote
