4hrs for boneless filets :rolleyes7:

Looks like the Chain is going to be closed at least another week or two. If my boy opts out on a bass trip on the Chain I'll give you a heads up as well. Once tourney season starts that's where I spend most of my time.

the bass I caught yesterday weren't much bigger than those crappies. The one caught in the shallow was dark colored and had a big belly. The ones in deeper water still had no coloration. Weeds haven't grown in yet. We need a little sunlight.

Fox Chain has been upgraded to "No Wake". It's dropping 2-3 inches a day and will hopefully be open this weekend.

The only shore fishing is near the ramp. About a 50 yard stretch. That's it.

Most of the fish we caught were off timber or rocks. I don't think there were any dock fish. The one in my left hand was 3lb and the biggest of the day. Lots of small males. A few bloodied from fanning beds. With temps in the 70's from Monday on, spawn should be in full swing.

Most were caught on a Havoc Pit Boss. My son got a few on a chatterbait and I think a t-rigged jellyworm. Couldn't buy a bite on jigs, swimjigs, or senkos

Is that a Clinton lake bass?

No but may try and head there over the weekend/tonight.  May just head to Evergreen tonight since i am feeling a bit lazy.  Will post results if any good.

Fox Chain is smokin' right now. Had out first tourney today and ended up in 5th out of 51 boats weighing in 12.49. 1st weighed in 15.87 and big bass for the tourney was 4.83. We caught 2 or 3 shorts all day and were culling by 9:30.

Meat trip.  Caught a bunch of crappie, and 4 channel cats on 6 inch swimbaits.  Two bass tourneys on Clinton Sunday and did not feel like fighting over so little water.  Was fishing the dam area for wipers- and kept catching cats.  Lots of fun though, need to get back to bass fishing though.

My buddy fished it. He caught two shorts only but he's not really an avid fisherman.

Did he fish the Fox Lake multi species  or the A/C club bass tourney? I know the guy who won the catfish portion of the multi species tourney with a 9lb channel cat he caught on a Baby 1-

Fox Lake Multi. He was fishing out of a Jon Boat type of rig with probably one rod. He's not an addict like we are.  I'm assuming you were talking about the club tourney then...

Yeah. I've been a member of A/C for 6 or 7 years.

Illinois big bass contest anyone?  Bragging rights only, but could keep the results coming in for the year.

Don't matter to me. I won't win but I'll have fun trying. Do smallmouth count? Maybe I could pull a piggy from Lake Michigan.

I am struggling on 5's this year let alone bigger- we will have to take a trip to Clinton though.  I would say a big smallie would for sure count- That would be worth more in my book.
