Thanks for sharing Tom. Great to see someone helping kids get into something positive. Instead of watching them sit around and play video games or get into trouble.

Bassasassin, I think you're right. It was a warmouth. I've been fortunate that I know the body of water I fish well enough to overcome the crappy weather, although it's been really tough. I haven't weighed in a limit and have been lucky enough to find a few quality fish on an alomst nonexistant bite.(7 bites each tourney)

We put this on once a year. It's called Webfoot Day. Any kid 16 and under can come out and do a little fishing, Shoot Archery, B.B. Guns, and actually get to shoot trap. Or they can just run the 100 acres at the farm (all with adult supervision of course) Best of all it's FREE for them.

thats good that youve found a consisntent bite. i havent figured this lake out by boat yet since i dont have one but as soon as i get one im hoping on figuring out a consistent pattern. right now the fish are on their beds so the bite has been tough according to a few good anglers out here. well tight lines to you and good luck.

Bass bite is off the hook right now on the Fox Chain. Problem is they're all 13 1/2" Had a tough tourney today. Water temps at 75-80 degrees and the spawn appears to be completly over Prefished yesterday and found dinks. Today, lost a 3+ pounder at the boat 5 minutes after we started fishing. Spent the rest of the day catching short fish.(Possibly 50 or so bass) Was able to weigh in 2 fish for a whopping 3lbs. No check today.

Man, it seems like everytime I want to go bassin' it's pouring out. Although I did take my Gpa and Uncle to a private lake and we rocked some big gills, plus a few nice bass(thrown back of course). Then again right after we got off the water it poured.............................................. Maybe sometime this summer I can bass fish.

Yeah the bite is doing pretty well here. well when the water isnt 3 feet high and like chocalate milk lol. good news though i did get a boat! it is a small project but its not going to put me in the hole. had to replace the trim motor wich was a living nightmare but cost was only my own labor and a 150 bucks for the new motor. other misc parts and pieces i should only be in it about 1400 with transfer and taxes and everything. its a 1986 ebtide dynatrak with a 150 merc xr2. anyways about fishing i had a tournament couple weeks ago and should of had a limit but a few rookie mistakes costed me a good bag. oh well got to learn from it and keep fishing. i too also lost a 3 lber at the boat. no net so when i bent down to lip it the fish did the infamous head shake and the rest is history. weighed in 3 but one ended up being short so had to throw him back in the lake so weighed in two for about 3lbs or so. no check either here but missed a good oppurtunity for an easy win but thats why they are called mistakes so i just need to learn from them and keep my line in the water. take it easy.

Picked up my son and met my dad at the ramp at 7:00am to spend fathers day on the water. Water temp was 73degrees everywhere. Fishing was relatively slow all day but we were able to coax a few to bite. Mostly dinks. Walleye, perch, bass, and a big ol' cat. Todays productive baits were jig n trailer, florida rigged Culprit ribbon tail worms, and live bait.

Woke up to a quite nippley 51 degrees this morning a far cry from 94 last Friday. Put on my perch king flannel and headed out. My son broke tradition today and because of that he got skunked. We normally stop at Thorntons for a six pack of long johns and some energy drinks. Today he tells me he's trying to ween himself off the caffine and sugar. The fishing gods were not happy. Anyway, launched at 6:30. Water temps varied from 70-76 and N-NE blowing 15-20mph. We have fished south most of the year and decided to head north today to Channel Lake. Picked up the 2 fish in the pics in about an hour and a half with only one other bite to speak of. When the trolling motor was on 6 to keep us from blowing backwards we decided to move. Headed over to Catherine. No bass to speak of but saw alot of very spooky musky hanging out. Headed down to Spring Lake and Fox and couldn't buy another bite. Off the water before 1:00. If nothing else the cold windy weather kept the pleasure boaters away.

Went panfishing with my dad today. Fished from 7am- the end of halftime. Fished the south end. Water temps varied from 44-50 degrees. Action was pretty consistant all day and we probaly boated 50 fish. There wasn't much size to any of them. We caught crappies, bass, perch, bluegills, white bass, and big drum. Fish were relating to wood, boat lifts, and floating piers. Most of the bite came on minnows, but a few came on pieces of nightcrawlers.

Couple of the nicer fish

Headed out today to hit Banner Marsh, took my 7yr old niece with me. On my 1st cast with a spinner bait landed this muskie. Didnt measure it. Didnt think Id even land it. Scared the niece she had never seen a fish this size before so she wanted to leave. So I was 1/1 on cast to catches today. Wanna Thank the fine gentleman that was on the dock. He was johnny on the spot with a net I forgot to catch his name.
