BLUESKY Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Ok fellas need some help. I just moved here from Ohio. I live in homewood and i've don e my research on fishing in my are. However, i can't find any feedback on how the fishing is in any of these ponds/lakes. Any suggestion and help you can give me would be great. Gonna be bank beating it sold my boat to get my wife through law school. So looking for places that are good from shore. If you are up to traveling a bit north, Lilly lake in Lakemore is a great for bank fishing, but it is catch n'release only for bass. Have gotten lots of 4 & 5lbers there. 8-) Quote

NiNeR Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I live in Homewood so i'm looking at southern cook and northern Will county. I fished the Izaak Walton preserve today and caught one on a rat L trap. It looks like these are the closest to me. Wampum lake, Sauk trail lake, Monee resevoir, Tampier lake and all the lakes/ponds/slough around it, wolf lake, midlothian reservation, and of course the izaak walton preserve and homewood ponds. bwell Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 anyone got any info on clinton lake? If a guy had never been where might he start? And mabe a couple bait choices, colors ect. I dont think Clinton is a very good bass lake, but I do very well on catfish. My buddy had luck there once and he was jigging the points and rocky areas if that helps you at all... Quote
zero limit Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 In burr oak park i found it....you going out there today? Burr oak woods is on the eastside of harlem across the street from turttlehead(westside of harlem) . I am going to stop out there about 10:30 or 11:00 to check it out, might be alittle muddy from the rain, if so I'll go over to arrowhead. If you see a chevy colorado silver thats me. Quote

bwell Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 We tried Sangchris on Sunday with hardly any luck. 3 bass and a crappie... The power plant wasnt pumping that day, so maybe that had something to do with it. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted March 17, 2010 Super User Posted March 17, 2010 Lasalle opener! Fishing slower than normal, probably due to sun and no wind. Ended up with about 20-25 fish total. Most bass were in the 14-15" range Got 1 LM about 3lbs and 1 SMB about 3lbs. Fish were caught on rattle traps, senkos. Quote
zero limit Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Made my way around several ccfp lakes yesterday, caught a couple small LMBs when at hosretail, also noticed alot of dead bass and a couple trout washing up on shore, heading back to turtlehead with the kids this afternoon(spring break) I'll put the kids on the crappie while I search for that monster bass Quote
