Fished, Tichigan on Saturday, very slow. I got a 15-1/2" largie, 17" walleye and a 26 " northern pike. My buddy got an 18" and 15" largemouth and about 6 other bass under 12". Jigs and rattle traps.

Fished lake Beulah on Sunday. We got about dozen largemouth all under 14". Lot of really small fish on jigs and rattle traps.

Planned on doing some crappie fishing on the Chain today. I spent yesterday afternoon butchering a deer and didn't feel like cleaning fish, so I went bass fishing. I shoulda went crappie fishing. Caught 1 snot rocket on a bluegill Houdini Shad, not another bite. Water temp is 49* and most of the vegetation is dead. Twas a bit nippy this morning. Was nice to have the Chain to myself. Not many boats out. Crappies are rescheduled for next weekend. Deer jerky is drying in the oven. Bears are losing........

Went to silver lake yesterday, one at 15", rapala jointed in shad. The trees where pretty though! Water temp 18°c.

Nope. Canada. I've never fished Shab, I just moved out here a month ago. I fish mostly in WI

Fished Shab this past weekend.  It was kinda miserable.  Morning air temp was around 32 degrees, water temp was around 55.  Lots of musky fisherman out in no gas motor area.

I'm done for the year and more. Unloading the boat in the morning and taking it in for winterization. I'm having my 3rd shoulder surgery on the 18th. 6-8 months recovery time. Going to be a long winter.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks Mark. I'm hoping for the best. The last 2 surgeries were arthroscopic. This one, not so much. The doc is going to make a 4" long incision in my back, drill a bunch of holes in the shoulder blade, and sew the torn muscles back onto the shoulder blade. Best case scenario, I will have 70-80% range of motion and be pain free at the end of the first 12 months. Currently I have about 35-40% range and pain 24/7. Worst case scenario, I'm going to pack up the bass gear and stick to walleye and panfish. I pray the latter doesn't happen.

You could always be the next A Martens and drop shot everything in sight lol . Hopefully you recoup where you need to so you can still fish for bucket mouths. At least you have a 6 month span of winter you couldn't really fish during anyway. Its ice out thats gonna suck but health comes first. I promise ill leave you a few fish to catch when you're ready.

Good luck on the shoulder. Getting rid of the pain will be well worth it. Follow the PT to the letter and you will probably get your motion and strength back to about 95%. Put my boat away this weekend also. It will be a long winter indeed.

Make 'em count. LOL I don't want any casts into trees. I do enough of those on my own.

Good luck with the surgery and rehab.

They have been on fire down here at my main boat fishing hole for the last few weeks, just killing small spinners and buzz baits. I had a period about 2 weeks ago that for about 90 minutes I couldn't go more than 3 casts without hooking a fish and actually went 3 for 3 at one point, casting to the exact same spot with a little spinner. Size ranged from dink to 3 lbs.

Then that lake slowed down a lot, so I hit a little farm pond near me the last couple of days for the last hour or so of daylight with a little spinner and have been catching 3 or 4 each day. So its been a really fun fall and this year my luck has been in and I was actually fishing during the fall bite and had plenty of time to go.

Unloaded all the tackle and whatnot out of my boat Sunday morning, I usually leave all that stuff in it for the summer when I fish a lot and then during the winter I will load/unload since i don't go much on the spur of the moment. I go to Newton in the winter and its about 90 minutes away so thats more of an all day deal and planned in advance.

I picked up the boat this morning. If anybody is interested in a report, I saw pics of  a 6+ largemouth and an 18lb pike caught this week on Bangs Lake by the same fisherman. Crappies are starting to bite as well.
