Nice_Bass Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Going to the ozarks a week from saturday I can fill you in after then. Clinton is iced up in the cold arm still. Mascoutin to the bridge is open but the back half of the hot arm is blocked off until march 31st. From the shore we are killing them but some of the best locals cant find a keeper on the lake. Its pretty slow and I suggest going down to missouri. Nice- was thinking about heading down there as well but don't think I am going to make it now. May try to get the boat out at Clinton Saturday before the cold comes back a bit. Quote

FlipnLimits Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Fished Braidwood for 3 hours on Friday 11-2. It was quite windy and 50F. Luckily I had a jacket in the car because the hoodie and bibs weren't enough. Here are a couple pics of the lake and the single fish I caught there. I did better than I thought I would I did get to cast the new Crucial, and it's a nice rod but nothing like the previous series. The action is much softer. Spoke with a few fishermen (fishing for bass) and each said they caught one or two fish, this included some of the bass boats coming off the lake. This place can be real tough! The picture of the lake shows the Nuclear Power Plant on the right and an island on the left. On foggy mornings (most of them are foggy here) all you will see is the top of the manmade island. All in all, it was great to get out for a couple hours as the ice is not off the lakes around my area. Next outing will be with the boat, thank God! FL Quote

crankcaster100 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Sounds like they got it under control Quote
FishingAndyofIL Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I hope so, that is a Great.......Lake ! Sorry couldnt help myself ! These oil spills are bad news coming. Every year these companies don't maintain, repair , & update their infrastructure the more this can happen ! Was this human and/or mechanical error ? a malfunction could mean ether one or both ! Imagine this happening on a 10,000 acre or less lake. I would be a complete from scratch restart after cleanup. Quote
crankcaster100 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Saw lot of small ponds are Melted today Can't wait to get out this weekend Quote
Super User slonezp Posted April 1, 2014 Super User Posted April 1, 2014 It's about time. Hopefully with this wind and warmth and the forecasted rain, we should have a lot of open water in the next week or so. 1 Quote

aceman387 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I have heard from a couple different fishermen that they had a fish kill at sag quarry. One side seems ok but dead bass and other fish were seen floating on the west side if i remember correctly. Quote
aceman387 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Correction ! Fishermen told me today that it is sag quarry east that has the fish kill. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted April 2, 2014 Super User Posted April 2, 2014 Can't wait to see the devastation of fish kill in Wisconsin.... Quote
Nice_Bass Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 More than a handful of fish kills. Water was 44 Sunday and I found plenty of bait although fishing was slow. Shad kills being reported pretty widespread. Small shallow lakes like Eureka larger fish kills. I would imagine spring lake and a few more could be hurt. Quote
Nice_Bass Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Fished dawson with 7 hdi and it is amazing. Like watching tv at the bow now. No interference or other issues with installation. 1 Quote
