central.PA.bass Posted February 11, 2011 Author Posted February 11, 2011 Curwensville, Sayers, and Raystown do not have HP restrictions... Glendale is 20hp... Black Moshannon is TM only Quote
fishincop640 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I would be interested....as long as it doesn't interfere with the tournament schedule. Raystown, Howard, Glendale, Curwensville would be fine with me.....Glendale is my home water so I prefer there!! But anywhere is fine. Quote
central.PA.bass Posted February 11, 2011 Author Posted February 11, 2011 sounds good fishincop.. I'm thinkin it'll be at curwensville... It is small enough that people with small boats dont have a giant lake to work with, the boat traffic isnt too bad, and it is unlimited hp for those who dont have small motors.. Quote
Super User bassfisherjk Posted February 11, 2011 Super User Posted February 11, 2011 Hey JimmyMo,I get over to Black Moshannon several times in a season.Next time I'm going to head over there I'll let you know.Alot of nice bass in that lake, plus I don't think it gets much pressure.Take Care. Super User bassfisherjk Posted February 11, 2011 Super User Posted February 11, 2011 Hey Fishincop, did you hear anything about them draining Glendale in August? Quote
central.PA.bass Posted February 11, 2011 Author Posted February 11, 2011 sounds good man! let me know when you're heading over.. I wanna go out during the pre spawn.. my friends co worker caught twin 6 pounders out there last summer! Quote
fishincop640 Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Hey Fishincop, did you hear anything about them draining Glendale in August? jk.....I have heard a couple times that they are planning on draining it down to fix something. I've asked several people when i've been out tinkering around on the ice. Not a lot of people know much about it though. Im just glad they aren't doing it like a couple years ago and do it early and then have drought conditions and the lake be several feet low all year. I did like seeing all the structure when the lake was down.....i found some points and things I didn't know existed. Also found a lot of old fishing lures!!! I don't see them draining it until all the "money maker" pontoons are off the lake. Quote
Super User bassfisherjk Posted February 12, 2011 Super User Posted February 12, 2011 Fishing cop,the guy I was talking to is big into the sail boats up there. He was mad because August is prime sailing weather. From what he said the only place that will have much water left will be the deep part across from the dam.If I hear anything else I'll let you know.As you said it will be fun to look at all the structure. fishincop640 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Definetely keep me updated. My club has a tournament in August and one in September..... thanks Quote
fishincop640 Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 A question off the subject but my buddy just asked me....why do they drain Howard (sayers) ever year? Quote
Hot Rod Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 A question off the subject but my buddy just asked me....why do they drain Howard (sayers) ever year? Fairly certain it is for flood control in the spring. Quote
central.PA.bass Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 COME ON ICE!!! KEEP MELTING!! What is everyone's prediction for when it will be gone? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 15, 2011 Super User Posted February 15, 2011 COME ON ICE!!! KEEP MELTING!!What is everyone's prediction for when it will be gone? Supposed to be 60 on Friday here. Can't wait. Still wont be fishable for a while I bet, supposed to get cold again this weekend. Quote
Super User bassfisherjk Posted February 17, 2011 Super User Posted February 17, 2011 I have to agree with Speed,it will be alittle bit yet.Man I can't wait!! Quote
Hot Rod Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Usually mid March. I hope to take the boat out by March 12th but March 19 is probably more realistic. Last year the first couple times out I was "ice breaking" in the mornings though it was just a skim. Quote
MediumHeavy Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Drove around Yellow Creek today in hopes to find some open spots to fish from shore, but absolutely no luck. I figured as much, but had to check it out to be sure! I can't wait to toss some line! Quote
fishincop640 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 The bass in my profile picture was caught on March 17th at Raystown....was a little cold in the morning but it was an exciting day! Quote
central.PA.bass Posted March 10, 2011 Author Posted March 10, 2011 How is the Ice looking for everyone? I havent been out much lately Quote
Rangerphil Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 If you guys have a fun tournament this year let me know! Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 10, 2011 Super User Posted March 10, 2011 Water is still REALLY cold. Been fishing a golf course pond three times. Missed one and BK42 missed one. That's it so far. Quote

Never fished it before. I thought the FBC drained it 3/4 of the way to do some repairs or something? This was at the end of the season though, maybe they are done already. Quote
central.PA.bass Posted March 10, 2011 Author Posted March 10, 2011 if you like fishing lily pads, it is the place to go.. theyve shocked it multiple times and there are state record bass in there.. just really hard to get to due to shallow water and tons of pads... its fun to frog fish though... the lake is polluted with pickeral as well.. i think they drained it for bridge repair but the bridge has been done and the water level is fairly normal i think.. Quote
NateFollmer Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Perfect paddling lake then! I love fishing pads and just got some new frogs I need to try. Looks like I'll be hitting that in the summer! Quote
