nashua fisherman Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 me and the wife went to potanipo in brookline today. i caught crap, she caught this; Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 Nice. Where is the picture of the carp? We go there alot on the summer. Pretty good spot, But it does get bombed with all kinds of boats. A guy I worked with told me there are some big ones in there, But we have never caught any over 1 lbs. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 i didnt catch carp, i caught crap(nothing). there was two other boats out there today. there wasnt enough weeds for us. we like fishing pads. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 Ooh sorry. I went to Robinson again today and caught six bass and two perch. No pictures unless they are over two pounds for me LOL. Have you fished the nashua river lately? Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 we went last week and didnt have any luck. saw a couple other boats. . Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 Cool. Thanks Tom. Have you ever fished there? Looks pretty big. I may take a drive to check it out. Derek Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 never been there. let me know if you make it out there. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 took my neice and sister out sunfishing today. i was too busy baiting hooks to fish myself, but my neice caught a couple biggies. saw a school of bass fry today for the first time. nice big bass in the middle warding off sunfish. i have to say it was doing a decent job, but it looked like a losing battle. and i thought raising a couple kids was stressfull!!! rippin_lips Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I fished Massabesic on Friday and caught one 3lb 2oz bass on a senko. Also caught 5 bass at Lake Massasecum on senkos and tubes. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 25, 2009 Author Posted May 25, 2009 Nice. I wish I got out this weekend, but was to busy and I'm sure the lakes/ponds were to. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 Had a great day out at the pond today. I caught 7 in all. All Bass to. ;D. Most were right a 1lbs, But I did catch a 3lbs 15oz female on a Senko. I also used a Jig. I did lose one big hawg (line broke). I would say it was at least 5+, But it don't count because I did not touch it. LOL. Here are a couple of picture of the bigger ones. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 good looking fish!!! i had a couple of hours to kill yesterday so i headed out to the old "bensons animal park" in hudson. theres ALOT of water/swamp/marsh/mud out there and i had heard there was some big pickeral there back in the day. i only caught one fish but i had fun wandering around the woods by myself. this was one of those trips where you need to check yourself for ticks when you get back. felt like i was in the rain forrest. unhbass37 Posted May 30, 2009 Author Posted May 30, 2009 Nice one. I may take my boys out tommorow after baseball. Are you taken the family out tommorow? Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 30, 2009 Author Posted May 30, 2009 Tom, Have you tried the Gamakatsu skip gap hooks? I used them last night and they worked real nice. No more slipping down the hook on the Senko. Good luck today if you head out. Derek Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 havent tried them. please post a picture of them. we went to 3rd swamp in hudson today and the wife caught a 2 pound pickeral on a spinnerbait. hoping to head out later on the boat. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 30, 2009 Author Posted May 30, 2009 2lbs pickerel nice. Here is a picture of the hook. They had them at Walmart for four bucks a pack of 5. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 those look sweet but thats a little bit too expensive for me. were still on our first 25 pack of gamakatsu 2/0 ewg's that i bought at cabela's at the begining of the season. my wife usualy prefers using red anodised laser 1/0 ewg's. we've been trying some senko knockoffs from strikeking lately. not sure if theres been any real difference in our luck. there $2.99 a pack at walmart and they have watermelon w /red and black flake(my favorite color), not that i beleive at all that color matters, since we've caught fish on every color weve thrown in the same day. we also picked up some berkley powerbait senko knockoffs but there not worth getting the stink on your hands or tackle box and they dry out if you leave them out of the pack. just like the gulp containers, the packages dont reseal. unhbass37 Posted May 31, 2009 Author Posted May 31, 2009 Ya I figured I would try them. I really like the way it holds the senko without slipping. Quote
