Just go to the Rage Tail site, and in the Talk Forum section, there is a thread for posting big fish caught on Rage baits. Plus the forum is awesome, and a bunch of great folks. I'm a moderator for the site, so I'm there all the time.

New PB smallmouth out of the Merrimack River today. 5lbs,6oz. Caught her swimming a Rage Tail Smokin' Rooster on a keel weighted Moaner hook.

I put a post in the outing section, too, but also wanted to put this one in here, because you guys know where I'm comin' from!

Nice smallie. That's impressive with the cold water. I'm itching for the warmer weather.

SAWEEET FISH

Thats one most of us in New England only get to dream about. Many of us will never get a largemouth that big.

Must of been a nice feeling.

Now i really cant wait.

WOW Shane, that is a trophy smallmouth for New England! The biggest smallie I got out of there this winter was only around 2 pounds, but its good to know there are some monsters in there

Beautiful smallie Shane. Congrats. Does the River stay open most of the winter or did the warm weather last week open it up a bit? The CT River in my neck of the woods is locked up from Dec to March.

fmoore, that section stays un frozen just about all year, but further down river, where the launch is, sometimes gets iced over, making going up impossible. The warm up last week opened up a huge section, too, so it's cleared for take off!

Hey guys any ideas why I can't access this forum from my Droid anymore. I only can from my computer or if I use wifi on the cell.

Anyone know of any rental cabins on Conway Lake in Center Conway NH? A group of us usually rent a few spots at Cove Campground which is great but we'd like to find a decent rental house for the spawn. Usually during the last week of May. For anyone looking for a great lake thats pretty quiet, Conway is it. Nice public launch and if you want to camp, Cove is the only camground on the lake.

I'm having the same problem. Noticed it a week ago. Very disappointing. I did a lot of forum reading on there. I'd love to hear if there is a fix.

After a 30 second search of recent forum topics, mystery solved:

Yes, I'm aware of the block because I implemented it. We have a persistent hacker that's been trying to access the site via a Blackberry, so I had to block it until further notice.

I know it's gonna be a bit windy today, but 40 degrees?! You know where I'll be (Wednesdays off). Pics of big ole smallies to follow later, hopefully.

Ok, so only a few smallies, and none of them big, with biggest going about 2lbs. The largemouth were more actice, and feeding shallow, mostly on moving baits. My most productive bait was a keel weighted Rage Smokin' Rooster (in a prototype color), with the biggest at 3lbs, 9oz. 15 total bass today, even though that wind was a mofo! 10 largemouths, 5 smallmouth, 1 huge perch, and 2 pickerel for the day, but here's the biggest fish of the day.

I'm DYING to get my bass boat out! Last year I got it out of storage the second week of March, but it probably will be another month. That sucks!

Shane I assume you are fishing on a river. Any tips for early spring river fishing because I see you have had some success. Anything will help. I am in Mass so not to far away from you, temperatures and such have probably been about the same. Thanks

Well, the weather's been up and down. One day it's 40, then the next is 20. Water temps are still in the high 30's, except for one section of the Merrimack, that ranges from around 40, to about 47 degrees. I've been using all plastics, especially on a drop shot, or jig/trailer worked very slow along channel drop offs and rocky points. For early spring recommendations, I would say jigs or tubes are  winners, or go with suspending jerkbaits for river smallmouth. Also, you can't go wrong with slow rolling a spinnerbait, swim jig, or keel weighted plastic like a Smokin Rooster or Space Monkey.

Thanks Shane, I was thinking alone the same lines. I am home for spring break this coming week so my friends and I are excited to go out and the river seems to be the only option for now. I will be sure to try all of those things. Thanks and lets hope for warmer weather
