unhbass37 Posted May 2, 2009 Author Posted May 2, 2009 That's awesome good job. I did not get out today. Maybe tommorow. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Going out tommorow AM, But I'm sure with all this rain it will tough fishing. Â Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Caught 4 bass at Mill pond today and 1 black crappie. The biggest bass was a 3lbs 9oz here is a picture. He was a fighter to. I was glad I had 12lbs line on. That milfoil is heavy now and I had to drag him out. All in all fun day. All bass were caught on a jig very tight to cover and the black crappie was on a crank bait. ;D Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 nice unhbass. weve been all over lately. we caught more pickeral at flints pond in hollis and tried otternic pond in hudson twice and caught a pickeral and a bass. shoreline wasnt productive so we used the fishfinder to find some structure in the middle. fishing is real slow there and the weeds havent fully developed yet. saw a guy out there that said they are going to poison the milfoil and fanwart. we tried the pennachuck water works off tinker road in nashua for about 20 minutes but it was too crowded on the shoreline. we didnt want to risk losing the boat to fish and game although ive heard about people putting boats in there. flints pond in tyngsboro has been productive for us down back in the pads. saturday we managed to get on locust pond in tyngsboro. we caught six bass and one pickeral. caught a small bass saturday evening at dusk twitching a floating minnowat mill pond, but everything else has been caught on senko's and spinnerbaits. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Mill pond will get very hard to fish in about 4 weeks or so. The millfoil makes it tough to fish. I will be heading to horseshoe or Lake Massabesic for fishing. Mill pond does have some big hawgs in there though. I am hoping to catch my first smallmouth this year. I have a few places to try. jaystraw Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Have you guys tried hitting the Merrimack river yet? Â I've heard great things about it. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Did last year from the shore and no luck. I plan to get out there in my bass boat soon though. I heard there was a big smallie caught there in Merrimack, NH. Quote
wagn Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 A friend of mine pulled out a 4lb smallie from the Merrimack shore fishing last week. Personally I've never had much luck on that river Quote
Fuzzy101prf Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Yeah I have been rocking the Merrimack in the Manchester area lately, With very good results! The smallies are hitten' the little minnow swimbait type of things. I must have pulled at least 10 really good size ones out of there this week.. Â Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 took a personal day with the wife and went it out to locust again. wife caught two bass and two pickeral and i caught one bass and a good sized pickeral. i told her she always catches more cause i have to drive the boat. thats my story and im sticking to it. unhbass37 Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Nice job Tom. Tell the wife the same. No fishing today for me. Went job hunting again. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Went to Robinson Pond today in the Bass boat late, But got 5 pickerel >, 1 Bass , and 1 Perch . There was plenty of action there. I was suprised how big that place is, Glad I did not take the inflatable. I will be going back with my son soon. Not bad for a couple of hours. Here is a picture of the Bass and a Perch. No pictures of the pickerel. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 good job man. did you fish the shore down back? what bait were you using? we went to mill pond for a half hour yesterday and i caught 2 small ones from the shore on a spinnerbait. its starting to get thick in there. today we went to natacook in merrimack and caught 6 fish. 3 bass, 2 pickeral, and a sunfish that was built like a brick. all on senco's. not sure where were going tomorow, but we were thinking either massabesic or potomic, but those waters are so big were not sure where to fish them. and ideas? Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 All fish were caught on a blk/gold with white bottom crankbait. I went way out and fished the pads and shallow grass on the other side. I did not get out till almost 12:00 so it was hot out there, and I was not expecting much, But did ok. I know if I can get out earlier I hope to a little better (Bass wise that is). If you go to massabesic I have only fished the from the Auburn side and what I did was head to the big rocks out there and caught some there, But if you are fishing from a Jon boat I would fish all the areas near the launch. Last year a guy caught a 3 pounder right near the launch. When I went there I was using a deep driver crankbait and was bouncing them off the rocks. Good Luck and post pictures. Hope you do well. nashua fisherman Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 took my son and his coisin sunfishing at the nashua canal off of ledge st and they caught 14 fish altogether. we saw a couple of big bass. some of them were chasing the sunfish as they realed them in. me and the wife ended up going to robinson pond this afternoon and we caught two bass an one pickeral. we caught everything in the pads out back on senco's. around 5:30 we got the urge again so we decided to see if we could catch some bass in the canal. we didnt have any luck until we ended up at this spot we'll call "secret spot". i ended up catching two. one of them was worth photographing. unhbass37 Posted May 17, 2009 Author Posted May 17, 2009 Nice. No fishing for me today to much to do.. What color senkos are you using and how are you rigging them? Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 im not sure that color really matters, but weve had luck throwing every color we have; watermelon, pumpkin, purple and charctuce(?). we usualy t-rig them weightless, but my wife had luck today wacky rigging them weedless. there was a post somewhere on this board on how to do the later. basicly, if we cant get a bite on a spinnerbait we slow down and throw the senco's. unhbass37 Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 Decided to hit Mill Pond again at 5:30pm and here is what I caught. 5lbs 1oz Butter ball 8-). I also caught another small one one. No pickerel either . I was surprised due to the fact there were 3 boats there and a ton of shore fishermen. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 sweet!!! what di you catch him on? and where on mill pond? Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 On the Jig with a trailer. I caught it by the canal (where the big tree is). I threw it out there let it sit for about 10 seconds gave it a jiggle and he tapped it twice then ran off and I set the hook. There was a guy fishing from the shore who thought I was caught on the bottom I said the bottom don't pull like this ;D. What a fight. He actually moved my inflatable around . There was another guy another out there who caught a 4 pounder in the middle on a Blue gill. The pond was busy last night, But I was glad I was there. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Went to Robinson Pond tonight for a couple of hrs and caught 4 Bass and 6 Perch. All bass were around 1lbs. Here is a picture of one I took that was 1lbs on money. No big ones yet there, But I know there there and will keep trying. All fish except one was caught on a Crankbait and the other on a Jig with a trailer. Â Quote
nashua fisherman Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 me, my wife and my son were bored so we went fishing at "secret spot" around 8:00pm tonight and my son caught a monster bass. it had to be at least 4+ #'s. i tried taking a pic with my cell phone but it was too dark. i thought that he was caught in the weeds when he yelled "help me!!!", but i think he was scared, because he backed up 3 feet and sat down to real it in. really wish i had a picture. im so proud.
