nashua fisherman Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Any one fished ottarnic pond / tonic pond in hudson nh ?i am thinking i might try it out wed early first light. have to be to work by 8:30 so only a couple hours to fish caught a 3.9# bass there last month. we caught a s load of really small bass last time we went. lots of pickeral, perch and crappie in there too. I fished that part of the river today and actually had alot of success towards the dam. cool. i usualy have better luck further up. did you see all the bass boats there saturday morning? i was there testing my new motor but left after a few minutes. Super User deaknh03 Posted September 23, 2010 Super User Posted September 23, 2010 nashua, try canobie, theres a canoe access at the water plant right off of rte 111. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 do you think i could get my 12 ft jon boat on its little trailer into canobie ? or just the jon boat out of the back of my pick up truck. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted September 24, 2010 Super User Posted September 24, 2010 i would bring the carry in jon boat just to be safe. I cant remember if you can back up to the water but I think its blocked off with boulders. but it's an official launch, and plenty of parking. if you go, good luck! Quote
jaystraw Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 got out on Franklin Pierce this AM. It was a pretty slow morning, but I managed to catch a decent Northern Pike (2 pounds or so) on a big white spinnerbait, a good sized smallie (1.5 pounds or so) on a wacky rigged senko, and a 3.5 pound LMB on a KVD swim jig with GYCB fat Baby Craw trailer. Pretty slow for a whole morning, but it still was a lot of fun! Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 28, 2010 Super User Posted September 28, 2010 I basically cannot cast into a body of water with a jig, and NOT catch a fish! Hit up a little grown-in place that I could hardly get around in, and caught 10 bass and a snot rocket in 2 hours, and most of that time I was fooling around and not really fishing. They were mostly between 2-3lbs. I know it's chilly, but whoever is still fishing right now, is gonna get on 'em! Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 i didnt get out to canobie on sunday due to time factors. i need to get there, but i did get to horseshoe for 2 hours . was the lone boat almost all morning till a resident pulled out his huge boat to fish. such a huge boat sitting at the dock for a little pond, he must use it at lots of other places. caught 1 huge pickerel and nothing else wed afternoon/night looks like turtle or crooked hopefully. going to try to plan canobie for this sunday am or sat night got over to the dam / gatehouse / mill pond monday am for 1/2 hour. lost something big never saw it broken or tooth cut line, but managed 1 smallmouth a little under 2 lbs. a fighter too Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 shane what is a snot rocket? never heard that before where is that at ? Quote
B-Dozer Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 shane what is a snot rocket? never heard that before where is that at ? I was wondering the same thing, but was afraid to ask Quote
troutguy Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Seems like this thread has calmed down quite a bit the past few months, but anyway got out a few times this week. Yesterday tried out stump pond. I wasn't overly thrilled with the outcomes but looks like a very promising little pond. lots of pads and structure all over. No bass but loadedddd with pickeral. I think I was there about 45 minutes and pulled out around 10 pickeral with some of them being pretty big. Today went over to my new favorite spot mine falls park in nashua. picked up 2 smallmouth on a booyah white spinner. 1 being a little over 2 pounds and the other slightly under 2 pounds. Has anyone else gotten hot anywhere im looking to expand, but im currently limited to shore access so the fishing gets somewhat limited? Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 troutguy i am kind of new but i am learning. i am from nashua, i have a small jon boat with a trailer but i do a lot of shore fishing because of time constraints. 1/2 to 1 hour then have to go. wed afternoons i get up to concord area with my boys for 3 or so hours and use my boat then , as well as sunday mornings. i have had good luck all around the shore at mill pond. and have had some luck fishing in the canal also. lots of it can be walked. nothing big but they are bass. off of main dunstable theres a small pond you can walk to. it is across from yudicki field , lots of black crappie (some big ones) as well as pickerel. i see a bunch of people always fishing into the nashua river over near the boat launch and into the weeds and pads behind stellos, i never seem to have much luck there but everyone else does. also at the dam and gate house, lots of hard hitting smallmouth, again nothing too big but i am sure they are there. also the merrimack river theres a bunch of shore spots especially around the bridges most of it can be walked very easy Quote
nashua fisherman Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 my 10 footer is up for sale($200) if anyone is interested. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1286220317/0 Quote
Nashua Nev Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 made it out to the gate house/ dam at the nashua river this morning from 7am till about 8:30am. 2 other guys were there already. 1 little kibby till about 8am then all of a sudden they started hitting. I bounced around from rubber lizards, wacky worms and topwater hula poppers and jitterbugs. First topwater hit a little after 8am on the popper then 4 lmb in 15 minutes on the popper all about 1 1/2 lb. Then it just stopped. Quote
jaystraw Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 I tired to get out on Franklin Pierce yesterday, but they have lowered the lake level and launching would be tough.  I only had a short time to fish, so i was not able to get out there. Hope everyone is still hitting them!! Quote
Super User Shane J Posted October 4, 2010 Super User Posted October 4, 2010 Yeah, Jay, still on 'em. Got out in the gale force winds on Saturday, and only caught dinks, but got about 10 of them up shallow on anything weightless, but couldn't stay on my spots long enough or quiet enough to get any bigger ones. I think I'm gonna dunk the bass boat for some smallmouth action today on the Merrimack. Quote
Triple D Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Does any one live near Wilton that wants to go fishing this week? I have a two person boat, my regular fishing partner is gone for the week. Let me know if interested. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 managed to get out to turtle pond sunday afternoon for a hour or so from the shore. hit onto a nice 4 pounder in the weeds and a few 1 pounders. also a 23 inch pickerel who hit it 3 feet in front of me in 6 inchs of water . i jumped highter than he did. the teeth were huge. my camera for some reason is now taking pictures too large to post (150kb max size) i need to find someone to help me remedy that so i can post some of these pics Quote
Super User Shane J Posted October 4, 2010 Super User Posted October 4, 2010 A 4 pounder from the shore at Turtle is pretty rare, with usually just a bunch of dinks and a guy with an annoying dog. Try putting your pictures onto Photobucket first, then copying the address and pasting it into your posts. Just size them down to med before posting, or they look huge. Quote
jaystraw Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Hey triple D shoot me a PM with the time and date. If I'm free I'm always up for wetting a line. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 wow, 5 dyas without anyone posting. is the season over? its been too windy for me to take out the boat but i did manage to get about a dozen lmb/smb below margaritas dam yesterday. nothing over a pound. anyways i managed a 2 and 3 pounder before last weeks rain. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 i just returned home from the stellos dam/nashua river entrance. 7 trailers and 4 other trucks, as well as 4 guys from shore. that was at 7 am. I left about 9 , not one fish for any of us from shore. Hopefully the boaters are having better luck. Shane , thanks for the photobucket tip my 17 yr old is going to help me get some pics sized so i can post them. Then he is going to adjust my camera back to where it was before i screwed it up. Quote
