Kevin McG Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Kevin ,how was the drag to get the kayak to the water ? Did you get or muddy to get to the water? Wasn't to bad, they have the skid lined up pretty good so I climbed right off of it into the kayak.I do think if you have lousy balance you could get a bit wet though Quote
BucketMaster Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 How was the meet up on the 27th guys? Quote
badcrawdad Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 W-I-N-D-Y-!!!!!! Very windy. NHfroggin had the most with 5, and I had the biggest with a 3lber. I think there was only a total of 11 bass caught between the 6 of us. pretty lame day. Hopefully we can all agree on a date and place for one more in late sept or early oct. Quote
Kevin McG Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I think i will try lovewell on wed morning a little before 6 Let me know how it goes, I may do Lovewell Thursday am Quote
Nashua Nev Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 kevin, i drove by the jersey barriers on the side of the road last night but it was dark. is that the entrance to lovewell pond ? thru those 10 or 12 jersey barriers down what looks like an old road , right off of main dunstable. no boat for me if i make it tomorrow but i have waders , can i fish from the shore with or without waders? is it worth a try with no boat? Quote
Nixstyx Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 caught 10 smallies yeterday at this little pond my buddy too me to.not sure i can find it again , off of wiley hill in londonderry , threw the woods for a 10 minute walk and boom. there it is biggest one was only a little over a pound , but we were only there for a little over an hour. Off Wiley Hill? I live 5 minutes from there and am unaware of what you could be referring to. I know of a small pond next to the continental soccer fields, which - as far as I can tell - has only pickerel. There is another set of 3 small ponds created from a gravel operation further down West Road, but no smallmouth in there, only largemouth. Google maps doesn't show any other water nearby. Care to help a brother out? What part of Wiley Hill? What side of the road? Quote

Nashua Nev Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 nix , we went thru litchfield on albourque right onto pinecrest? right onto wiley ? i think it may be over by the soccer fields but across the street. i have been to the soccer fields water hole , and there are definatly bass and pickerel in there Last year we were there a few times and were catching small bass with top water popr and a small jitterbug. Sunday we parked under some powerlines then crossed the street and walked thru the woods for about 10 minutes to a roundish pond. we caught smallies - as in small bass (my mistake - guess i wasnt thinking when i typed smallies) hope that helps i didnt make it over to lovewell this morning good chance ill make it sun or mon coming up i am going to make it out today though , crooked pond this afternoon around 2:30 my boys will be there around 4 Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 The sound a jitterbug makes as it is reeled in in almost total darkness with no other sounds is awesome. The sound of a jitterbug being nailed by a 4 3/4 lb lmb in that near total darkness is simply amazing. The sound of me crying because my cellphone camera is dead from my son playing games on it all night , is not so amazing :'( :'( Quote
badcrawdad Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Too bad about no pic, but congrats on a sweet bass. Was that at crooked? There are definetly some pigs in there. Thats where I caught my PB 6.75lb. Never catch alot of fish there but i've had 5 over 5lbs there. Congrats!!! Quote
jaystraw Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Finally got back out on the water yesterday. Ddi pretty well catching about 10 fish each between me and my buddy. Most on senkos, but we did catch some on topwater as it got dark. Nothing big...all around 2. Quote
NHBassfishing Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Nashua you walked thru the sandpit to get there I assume.. Its where theres 3 ponds 2 of which you can fish, and the other you got to walk over to.. I've never caught anything in there yet but you see schoolies everywhere.. That place will be nice in a few years. You can also shore fish the pond out behind the Post Office in Londonderry too.. Quote
Triple D Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Hey folks, I'm sure this is a dumb question but here goes, do senkos and/or the rage series soft plastics have to be kept in there packages to stay good? I'm only asking due to the fact i'm outta room in my tackle box. Look forward to hearing thanks in advance. Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 Got out today with my son for a few hours and did really well. we caught a total of 16 in 3 hours. wagn Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Got out on the water at Whiskey River today. 48 fish today. Another awesome day on the water. Largest was a little over 3lbs. Caught a bunch of 2lbers as well as some dinks. Quote
troutguy Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Well got out yesterday as well as this afternoon. I went down to mill pond in nashua for a few casts before the so called "Storm" came. Got a 2 1/2 pound LMB on a jitterbug on the second cast. Had another one miss but wasnt to bad for 25 minutes worth of fishing. This afternoon went out to naticook lake in merrimack which I probably wont go to again. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I tried pretty much everything so i decided to try out mill pond again for a little while. Was there about an hour and pulled out 2 LMB about a pound each on a silver panther martin. I go to school up here so I try a bunch of places when i get a chance but seems to me that overall the most productive area is mill pond despite the millfoil. Anyone have any suggestions for anything else in the area that produces descent bass? Im in the nashua area and and willing to drive maybe 20 minutes tops Quote
NHFisher Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Had my best day fishing ever on Friday. Caught 10 bass only one was under 3 lbs!! The first fish of the day is my PB at an even 6lbs I still have a smile on my face. Not bad for this being my first year really getting into bass fishing. First pic is the 6Lb. The others are some others I got. Quote
fmoore Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Nice fish NH! Can't beat a day like that. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 6, 2010 Super User Posted September 6, 2010 Man, Nice job, Marc! 6 pounders are hard to come by this year, too. Glad to see that inflatable working out for you, too. Quote

NHFisher Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 CONGRTATS on the great day and new PB marc! I knew your time would come. Was that at Lily? Yep, went out with a buddy in his canoe. The 6lb was on a stanley ribbit frog, the rest were the ribbit or a zoom fluke. Quote

harpoon Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Hey Guys, I live in Haverhill MA. I bought a boat last year 17FT. Starcraft Fishmaster.. ( first boat) Can anyone point me in the direction of some good lakes in the area even over the border in NH that have launches for boats my size? I am quite the novice to be gentle. Quote
