NHFisher Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Hello, I'm new to the forums. I'm in Pembroke NH. I'm new to bass fishing but have been hooked in a big way since a friend put me on to 3 1 to 2 Lbs LMB. After reading through the posts here I headed out to Turee pond to do some shore fishing last Sunday. I started talking to someone putting his boat in the water and found out he is a forum member. Thanks Eloo I enjoyed fish with you in your boat. We need to do it again sometime. I'm learning a lot here and hope to be posting about my first 5lb bass soon. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted June 22, 2010 Super User Posted June 22, 2010 Welcome, NHfisher. I'm also in Pembroke, maybe we can hit up a spot sometime, maybe find you that 5 pounder! Quote
wagn Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Quote Got 2 6+ lbs at hopkinton the other night within 10min of each other. Do you know the individual weights for each fish? The largest I've seen out of there was 6lbs 1oz, and it's nice to there are ones that are even bigger in there. Quote
saucy Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 6-5 and 6-8. My friend that I was with pulled a 5-11 about 30 min before those 2. We pulled in about 20 fish in 3 hours or so. All of the big ones were on frogs. Quote

Nice meeting you MARK.Had a lot of fun fishing with you.Although we boated only 1LMB with the c-rig,it was really cool when you spotted those 3 bass underneath that ledge.I miscalculated and should have had you tossing that lizard before we got that close to the ledge. We'll get those guys the next time.I have learned much from Shane and other forum members as will you.If you get the chanch to go out with Shane,go for it.He is a virtual textbook on bassfishing. Super User Shane J Posted June 22, 2010 Super User Posted June 22, 2010 Hey, thanks, eloo! I appreciate that. Anything I can do to help, I'm always more than happy to do it. We should all get out there and catch us some bass. I'm thinking Friday right now I'll have basically all day to fish, and will probably fish right up past dark with the full moon. I have a small pond only a few miles from me that holds some nice fish, if anybody can make it. Quote
NHFisher Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Shane, Eloo, the best times for me are mostly the weekdays after work. The wife works most Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. I would love to try to get together sometime. Shane, do you know where some good shore fishing is around Pembroke. I'm always looking for places to hit when I have a hour or 2 to kill. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 i think we should plan another "NH bass resource get-together" hopkinton res sounds good but im down for whatever. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted June 23, 2010 Super User Posted June 23, 2010 When I have a couple hours, there's a couple places to try, but not that are that great. I've caught a few at the park in the river, and the one pond I fish at sometimes will give one or two up from the sand, but it really depends on what time it is. Oh, and I totally think we should do a day at Hopkinton. Reminds me of the lake I fished last month in Va. called Briary Creek Lake.... All stumps, and just trolling around the trees all day, but some nice fish to be had. I never fished there before, but I'm down for a gathering. Quote
SaltyUSMC Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Sorry if it was already said, but where is Hopkinton? Quote

jaystraw Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Hey everyone..I started a new NH Get Together thread. Here is a link: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1277293844 Hey guys, got out on Franklin Pierce last night for a couple hours. Caught this 5 pounder with my first cast: also caught a nice 2.5 pound smallie on topwater (Rapala F-9), and my buddy did well also. great night for just a couple hours before the rain. Quote
fmoore Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Surprised you did well. Catching a fish on the first cast, especially a big one, is nooottt good Nice fish! Quote

nhbassin Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Quote Got 2 6+ lbs at hopkinton the other night within 10min of each other. WOW SAUCY! That is a monster day for that lake. I havent had great luck there, but I have been doing really well after these hot days on the top water frogs latley tho. Quote
fmoore Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 No pictures today. It was a good day, but a bad day all at the same time. I was prefishing for a tourney this weekend with my T partner. He boated a 4.9 on a frog, then I lost a fish that we both agreed was bigger at the boat on a T rigged tube. Then he caught a solid 3.5 on a chigger craw. I boated a 4 and had another solid 3.5 pop off midway to the boat, both on chigger craws. Fish are in their summer patterns here; post spawn is over. We had smaller fish before, in between and after the bigger ones. Lots of things went wrong, though, including many, many missed/lost fish, fish jumping out of the boat before picture ops and me breaking a rod on a hookset. It was one of those days where we really did do pretty well, but it doesn't feel like it at all. Oh well. Hope we can get the same big bites during the tourney. Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 Checked out Massaboag pond today in Mass. Only caught 3 in 2 hours. Place is huge with a ton of milfoil and fanwart. Locals told me there are 9 pounders in there. I don't know about that, but it is tough to fish.I did talk to a few people out on the water and told me they have not caught anything all day so I guess 3 was ok then LOL. May check it out with the tracker next week. Quote

Super User Shane J Posted June 24, 2010 Super User Posted June 24, 2010 Yeah, man, no problem. I can get out Monday and Thursday evenings, so we can hook up some time. Probably actually gonna hit someplace tonight for a few hours, then rock out tomorrow! Quote
